  1. Gofastcamper (gfc) mods, tips, pics, bs and builds

It is tough to get a measurement of the gap, the roof line is slightly arched and then there are the raised ribs. The front edge towards at the center of the GFC sits about 5/8ā€ from the roof. At the rib it is probably less than 1/2ā€. At the sides it is 1 3/8ā€.
  2. Wheel difference between stock black wheels and the upgraded version?

Mojave wheels also have a 37.17 mm offset. While the Rubicon/Sport wheels have 44.45 mm offset. So Mojave has a little bit extra poke.
  3. Gofastcamper (gfc) mods, tips, pics, bs and builds

I’m up in the mountains of east San Diego County. But I drop into ā€œtownā€œ often. Let me see what my Wife and I might have planned this weekend.
  4. RSI SmartCap with CVT Mt Hood RTT

I had the ARB 2500x2000 Awning mounted to the CVT using their Mt Hood Side-Awning Brackets. Having the ARB Deluxe Awning Room gives an amazing amount of living space when not moving often.
  5. 2,000+ Mile road trip coming up in July - What are your favorite quality-of-life upgrades?

What a fun and hard question to answer. My wife and I just completed a 2200 mile round trip adventure to Colorado from So California to see our son. I think I agree with the 12v Fridge listed above, having cold drinks and food handy along the route kept us happy and not reliant on fast food. We...
  6. RSI SmartCap with CVT Mt Hood RTT

No regrets, it works well for us. There of course are trade offs, its right at seven feet as it sits now so doesn’t fit in the parking structure at work, dropped to 18 mpg average, canā€˜t store much bedding upstairs, GFC’s tent design doesn’t provide much ventilation to combat condensation. But...
  7. RSI SmartCap with CVT Mt Hood RTT

I assume you’re asking about the Mt Hood size, it is the small 50ā€ wide model. I have since moved on to another camping setup, but I did really like this setup. Its modularity allowed me to drop weight and gain MPGs when I wasn’t actively traveling. The SmartCap was well made and super...
  8. If I had to start over... what I would buy again, what I would pass...

Cool thread idea. Having prior experience building the 2007 JKU I knew I wanted to take this build slow. Started off with a great deal in 2020 (early pandemic pricing) Sport S in the color I wanted on the lot. Would have liked to have the 8.4 screen, aux switches, remote start, and front...
  9. Bent Frame

In Go Fast Camper’s latest video on YouTube (South of the blowhole), racing across the desert, lost control, went off the road, crashing, resulted in a bent frame. I assume the added weight and leverage of the spare tire carrier plus 37 didn’t help one bit.
  10. Gofastcamper (gfc) mods, tips, pics, bs and builds

Picked my GFC up beginning of July, it has worked out well for our style of camping and recreation.
  11. RSI Smartcap

My RSI EVOSport was a great cap, but I’m really happy I jumped to a GFC Camper. GFC announced they are going to start building toppers, made in USA.
  12. iPhone 14 turning inReach into dodo...

And that feature had me thinking that’s kind of cool. It will no doubt be interesting to see how it’s rolled out and used. For me I’m certain it can’t replace the functionality of an InReach in the backcountry. I wonder how weboost and Starlink will be justified by overlanders for...
  13. iPhone 14 turning inReach into dodo...

i don’t think this iPhone feature turns the inReach into doo doo. The iPhone will just be another option in an emergency. The fact they set up a ā€œrelayā€œ to receive emergencies and contact the appropriate first Responders is cool and should limit unnecessary ā€œemergencyā€ responses. The iPhone...
  14. Camp King Canopy Camper

I just saw on another thread (RSI SmartCap) a new camper on the market, that is also a knock off of Alu-Cab in a lot of respects. The Gaia Truck Camper, I do like its tent doors/windows. I wouldn’t trade my GFC, but it’s another option out there. Oh, and it’s a better price than the Camp King...
  15. Camp King Canopy Camper

Yeah I don’t know if I’m looking at the right camper, but the one you linked to shows a price of $12,999. My GFC installed was just over $8,000. the Camper King looks like a knock off of Alu-Cab, but the Alu-Cab is cheaper by a few hundred bucks (shipped from Ok4WD). I’m all for seeing other...
  16. Camping with your Gladiator

Ran up to Mammoth Lakes for a quick weekend trip. Stayed in Old Shady Rest CG, but main focus was paddle boarding on Lake Mary. This pic was taken at the lake while GFC was in ā€œchanging roomā€ mode.
  17. Rubicon stock tire size in computer

When I put on the Falken Wildpeak MT on my Sport S I found 33.13 put my speedo spot on compared to GPS.
  18. California RSi SmartCap Evo Sport for sale.

Currently working with J33ptruck who is in Southern California too, but will let you know if it falls though. My plan it to run straight up I15 when I go up to pick up the GFC, and I will have a very limited timeline to make the trip, so won't be able to divert to Colorado.
  19. California RSi SmartCap Evo Sport for sale.

I’m running 33s, with 1.5ā€ leveling kit. It rides real nice and fuel economy didn’t take a big hit.
  20. California RSi SmartCap Evo Sport for sale.

I haven’t experienced any leaks with this cap, it’s solid. I have read about some owners having issues with the positive pressure air vent on top, but I have not noticed any water intrusion. That could be because I don’t use drive through car washes or higher pressure water hoses, which seemed...
