I couldn't tell you what caused my issue but I can tell you that it was a bad wire related to both batteries. The second dealership I took it to replaced this wire and the two batteries. I'd have to look at the paperwork to see the exact verbage on it.
I'm going to do surveys during lunch. I do plan on contacting the first dealership, as well as Jeep Cares. It's still blowing my mind that they wanted to swap out alternator and all that it was just the batteries. If I can, I'm going to try and get my warranty to cover the diagnostic fee I paid...
They would've taken advantage of me had ya'll not recommend taking it to another service center. I was initially going to just pay for the work if they did not honor warranty
Me too! Yea, don't go to that dealership. They'll take your money and misdiagnose vehicle issue and then will take more money when they actually fix what's wrong with vehicle.
I've always been hesitant to take cars in for work, but I figured since it was new and under warranty, it wouldn't have been an issue. Boy was I wrong lol
I was too! What was frustrating me the most was the fact that it felt like they never actually ran a diagnostic. I dropped the truck off and within 30 minutes had a call from service rep telling me he suspected water damage. The next day, almost as soon as they opened, they called me to confirm...
Yeaaa my mind is blown. I can’t believe that it was the batteries. I can’t believe the difference in the diagnostic. My mind is blown. I told them I appreciated them very much. My faith is restored. Not with original dealership though. Never going back
Dealership called today. Truck is all fixed up! They were busy yesterday and didn’t get a chance to call and tell me what was wrong with it but they called today. Both batteries were replaced, charging system wasn’t charging due to blown fuse and bad wiring. They fixed it up and ALL was covered...
Ohhh okay. That makes sense then. Interesting to see that the same thing happened to someone else. I'm still waiting to hear back from second dealership
I’m not going to mention anything unless they ask/bring it up. I don’t want them to approach the diagnostic based off what another dealership said. I’ll have a better feel for it tomorrow when they call. Hopefully it works out
Jeep wouldn’t tow from one dealer to another so I had to go through my insurance’s roadside assistance. I dropped it off and spoke briefly with tech as they were busy. He said we could talk more tomorrow. I’m sure that after he plugs the VIN in, he’ll see that they are second dealership. I’m...
After waiting all day for a tow (first tow cancelled on the way), I got the truck to the second dealership. Service rep told me it sounded like an electrical issue and that he’d get it in the shop tomorrow morning and give me a call. Hopefully this dealership doesn’t claim that the engine area...
