No, nothing removed…the winch-clamp-spreader attachment I just put toward the middle of the rail. Here’s a better pic. The only points of contact are the 2 bolts on the base and the rail cradled into the notch in the 2x10’s. Lifts in and out really easily.
Here’s a closeup. On the bottom and rear sides I used 50# mounting tape and you can see the bolt I ran thru the box side existing hole. I really like the setup is easy side access (60” is heavy) and it’s never in the way.
