Just took out my rear seats, so figured I'd weigh them if anyone finds it interesting.
2021 JT Rubicon leather rear seats: 99 lbs
(weighed using my bathroom scale, so give or take a pound)
JTRD's can burn a lot of oil before their first scheduled maintenance. I would check it and top it off accordingly. And if you are close to an oil change, get it done beforehand.
If you do get the 3-piece front steel bumper and want to add a winch, you will also need to purchase a winch carrier plate. They seem to run $200-$300 if you install it yourself.
I have the diesel that already adds a bunch of weight upfront, so kinda regret getting the factory steel option...
Explains why I did not throw any codes the three times it derated. Name any other type of vehicle that puts you into limp mode without throwing a code or otherwise telling you what's going wrong. Shady.
Anyway, derating sucks. Especially when you are towing 1,500lbs under max climbing the...
Squeaky wheel gets the grease as they say. They definitely will not do anything about it if folks do not complain.
And hopefully, Jeep is setting its goals a bit higher than the bare minimum.
I personally think this is a good idea. Jeep leaving the horns in the default location, especially after reading an article about all the lengths the "cooling" team went through to open up the grill to get more air to the coolers, is mind-boggling.
Now, whether or not it's worth the effort...
If you have the diesel, I would not worry about regearing unless you are going bigger than 37's. The diesel can handle the weight running 3.73's with no issue.
Where did you order from? I cannot seem to find them anywhere. I believe northridge has some showing for the JL, but half the parts in the "kit" were on backorder.
Pretty sure the only thing they did was to slap on a bigger fan for the diesel. If that even. Probably the same fan as the max tow.
Same part numbers for the radiator/cooling system (gladiators, wranglers, gas, hemi, and diesel):

Nobody was talking about doing 85 up a mountain pass or jumping potholes. The op stated he was doing 85 on a turnpike going to work, and some folks blamed the speed. Implying our Gladiators are inherently incapable of going those speeds safely, which is simply not true.
Also, not all of Texas...
The speed limit on my stretch of highway is 80 and you will get past up by just about every other make/model of car, truck, and semi known to man. This is not the 1980's.. we can go faster than 55 now.
And if your Gladiator feels unstable at 85, something is wrong.
So you can traverse that one obstacle you couldn't otherwise clear. For when you need that extra inch to clear your diff, meatier tires to grab that ledge, or when that curb at the Walmart is in your damn way.
Yes, some people just like the looks. And every time they park and walk away, they...
You may have something else going on. I have not heard of anyone derating without towing a load, especially in cool weather. So unless I'm wrong, or unless your family is bringing gold bars and your tires are flat, I'd take it to the dealer. Because I really, really hope we are not derating just...
I'm hoping most folks either have the dealer reprogram theirs, or buy a programmer so they can do it themselves. I went with the latter because I assumed I was doing to go up and down in tire height.
I think I paid ~$200 for the tazer light version if I recall.
Nah, looks worse than it is. NOBO's, e-pros/geo-pros, and some of the Winnies are pretty light. My e-pro is similar, all aluminum build and is ~4000k lbs dry, probably around 4300 with batteries, propane, some water in the lines, silverware, etc, and ~4500 lbs ready to go camping. It could be a...
