Well, my Dutch-domiciled, multi-national automotive manufacturer subsidiary will kick your Japanese head-quartered multi-national conglomerates ass.

Sounds like a couple of turds leading the group, some followers and probably a couple of great guys just caught up in the adventure.
Be safe, lead by example and still help someone if you can.

My dad is super into the amateur Bigfoot researching scene, and it is just like high school with its cliques. It's amazing how much time some of the folks in the group spend talking about other folks in other groups.
I think just about any hobby or club scene with more than 3 people in it eventually turns into a shit show sometime down the line. Just too many competing thought processes on who is doing it better or more correct.

I can guarantee that someone has already posted this thread topic on a Yota forum, and linked it. Now we look like the a$$holes. I really don't care what people drive as long as they are cool. I used to wheel with a Toyota guy. He got tired of not being able to keep up though, and bought a Jeep...true story.

It's more an off-road courtesy rather than a brand-specific issue in my experience. I have a vacation place in Sedona which is a magnet for off-tourists, some highly experienced, some not so much. You can rent a buggy/UTV or a Jeep and have at it and I can't tell you how many times I've gone head to head with someone when I was going uphill only to have them come barreling down at me, more often than not in my line. There's no right of way in the desert, but common off-road courtesy is the uphill vehicle has the right of way. I have NO problem letting people know my opinion, whether they've wanted it or not and have let them know, in no uncertain terms whatsoever, that I have the right of way in that situation and either learn basic off-road courtesy, or take a (pink) Jeep tour and let a professional do the driving...

The buggies/UTVs tourists are typically worse (I also have a Can Am Max X3 RS); some flatlander with more money than brains rents a machine that has trophy truck level suspension and performance and thinks they own the trail. I've seen them pass people up and down, left and right on Schnebly Hill Road while the other party wasn't yielding/stopped in places where going off the trail is absolutely fatal, with sheer drops that are hundreds of feet, laughing like drunken frat boys the whole way.

THESE are the types of jackwagons that give off-roaders a bad reputation, particularly when they're leaving their trash, which frequently includes beer cans/liquor bottles and fast food wrappers in their wake. There's serious/hardcore and most of of respectful, off-roaders that own vehicles of practically every manufacturer; Jeepers aren't necessarily the saints of the off-road community nor are 'Yoters the bane of our existence...

This might be of interest to you. Toyota actually banned exporting the new land cruisers to prevent this.

"Reading between the lines, Toyota is concerned the new Land Cruiser could be used by terrorist groups, which has been the case with older versions of the SUV as well as with the Hilux pickup truck."
I have nothing against Toyotas. Bad guys will find other vehicles, or other ways.to get them.
Wow! Lol.

Why would we look like assholes? It was a long string of Toyota rigs and they were being reckless in the extreme and endangering other trail users. It wasn't just being rude, they were flying around people and came close to causing at least one wreck.

Maybe because what brand of vehicle you drive has absolutely nothing to do with whatever DNA you were born with that made you an asshole in the first place? I knew that after a few short grammar school biology classes….

The guy that runs a local Jeep club here in NM is a total d-bag. I'm sure there are plenty of non-Jeepers who say the same about the group he leads.

In fact most of the guys I know in Jeep clubs are all elitist c-suckers who won't give you the time of day unless you have x, y, z mods. Case in point the guy mentioned above told me I better not go with them on a specific trail ride without 35s even though I had been on that trail before with bare bones stock and with 33 MTs.

Point is a-holes aren't brand specific.

I think OP if you had a second chance to change the title and maybe some minor content, what I think you were trying to relay is that a random bunch of 4wheeler’s on a specific trail at a specific time proved themselves to be careless, dangerous, selfish and it made you ponder how they could be this way.

….and maybe if you hung around a little longer another group of people might have blasted by in ATV’s doing the same thing and flipping the bird, swearing with such shocking grammar that would warrant feeding them soap…

So, we are all called to be better, …everywhere.
