Just a quick update on this, life got in the way. Then a dealership is moving to a reserve right beside where I live (so tax free for me for parts bought there) so decided to stick it out a bit longer before attempting any of this! Now the strike.... so it will happen at some point here! Sorry...
My water pump blew 2 days ago... new water pump was a "undermined" amount of wait due to the strike and stuff.... luckily the shop I took it to just did a hemi swap on a 3.6 so they yoinked the water pump off that for me! Got lucky and dodged a bullet. Hopefully you can get the parts soon...
And so end the Punk'n orange OGs. May our paint not have faded much next to the new ones ??
On a side note, If anyone in Canada is ordering one... I'll pitch in for colour matched half doors!
Should be good on the front, leaving it stock till beside the Tcase so that cross over is stock. There's not enough room between the Tcase / Tcase mount / stock tank to fit the exhaust without a lot of work
So I'm not sure how doable it is the way id like to, but here's my idea. (ignore my nasty underbelly, I hit some nasty mud this week)
Cross behind the Tcase to centerline. And go above the drive shaft with some oval exhaust tubing.
Then I'd have to redo where the park brake cables route, but...
Based off those pics I think you could go gas with a diesel tank. But not sure about the other way because of the location of the CAT. (Unless you get funky with it) the only issue I think is going to be finding where to put the exhaust on a gas. Which is great news!
I have a simple question, that might have a complicated answer.
Has anyone tried / thought about putting a diesel gladiator tank in their gas? As it mounts on the other side. It would match the skid plate of the gas. And based off price is way cheaper than buying one of the aftermarket aux fuel...
I'd they'd at least pay the labour back (which was quoted and done at a dealer) that would be beautiful. Because it was the same cost labour wise for either option
Very true! Well see I guess. The center force was only like 300/400$ more. So not a huge difference for one Customer.... But for how many of us manuals there are who knows!
After 2 software updates to "fix" the clutch overheating/exploding issue in 2020 and 2021. My clutch died last year, with 52,000kms in it due to "excessive slippage and overheating" the exact wording used in the recalls....
They didn't warranty it. Is this newest recall explicitly stating it's...
As far as install price I had 1751 Canadian with tax. Through a dealership as they said it was warranty work for a bearing etc etc... Fml. Anyway not terrible but not great. About the same as another shop said they'd do it for, and I would have had to move it on over there. Not sure about where...
So if I'm getting this right from reading this all... It's a SC that's sized more appropriate for the engine, and using tuning to get the performance than just raw air into the engine?
Honestly because computers, the engine might go into a slightly different tune in 4Low. I have noticed it can sound different in low compared to high breaking trail in snow
I didn't like the location of the factory switches in my test drives... Also only 4 switches!
I ordered a Voswitch JL200, because 1. Who doesn't like the look of rockers? And 2. Things fall out of that too holder at anything more than a 15° climb, a safety hazard in a manual trans!
Always off the clutch in a gear. Either holding speed, engine braking, or speeding up. If I have to coast I throw it in neutral!
And yeah, I never hold the clutch at a light. I have a tazer so when I get annoyed with the ess it just gets turned off!
