I didn't do much that was for looks only, I can drive with those lights at night with just those lights and have on a few occasions when the fog was really bad. Also in the sand in the evening they work great, mine are much brighter than the taco prerunner lights....
love the ride, if it gets noisy I turn the radio up. I have been on 6-7 hour rides on highway, and 4-5 hour rides on trails and little to no complaints. I have gotten it re-geared to 5.13s, made a huge difference.
I don't have any under the hood pictures, it requires me to pull down the "blanket" there has been no major water issues that I have noted, in rain or water crossings, and they are about as bright as the stock LED fog lights.
I have experienced similar findings to this, also in deep sand it revs high but right in the power band, and shifts really late holding 3rd to about 65 mph, mostly 1st and second most of the time.
the codes were actually odd as hell, disconnected power to the throttle controller, and misfires... so it is a bit of an issue. I pulled the controller and have cleaned the fuel system, gotten an oil change and had the oil tested and have had no issues under load, off road or on highway since...
how is the drive with them vs before they were on, I am looking at putting on a set of front and rears, but wanted to make sure it makes sense for daily driving, AND offroad.
I have one as well, and I have been noticing that same issue. There are articles about the voltage it pulls at max throttle, that can make the entire system unresponsive, and even stall, I have had that happen as well. I took it out this weekend when it happened on the highway while merging...
