  1. Good Garage in Raleigh Area?

    Unfortunately no... still looking.

To help with squat (which was noticeable after cap, bedslide, RSE step/slide) I pulled our the AEV 2" spacer in the rear and replace with Clayton Offroad 2.5 Triple Rate coils. https://www.claytonoffroad.com/product/jeep-gladiator-25-triple-rate-rear-coil-springs-2020-jt This put the truck at...

Added Rock Slide Engineering step/slides a couple weeks back; my wife and kids were struggling to get in/out after 2" AEV lift. The weight on this was 225lbs... I haven't wheeled with them yet; hoping to go out to Uwharrie in a week or so. Install was smooth. I bought an inductive heater for...

Added bedslide and more weight to the rear... 😞 but it's so useful!!!! Adds and extra 80lbs.
  5. '21 Granite Mojave - First Jeep

Yeah, after the topper + bedslide then RSE slide steps... squat was just too much. Last week I pulled the rear stock coil springs and AEV spacer and replaced with a springs from Clayton for a 2.5" lift which has fixed the squat and ride. Best upgrade to date. I'll post a profile picture soon.

Continuing to catch up... a few months after lift I received my cap & bedslide. My wife was pushing for the topper and to be honest I really like it. So much room for cargo and it's protected from weather. My wife overpacks... yes the family is comfortably prepared to be away twice as...
  7. '21 Granite Mojave - First Jeep

It was rated "medium" or blue... not easy but certainly not hard. Hitch guard critical for the JT. Definitely needed a spotter on several sections, scraped the armor underneath (and that sounds worse than it is) but overall it was fine. The trick with #26 was I went the wrong way. I started...

Catching up with my build postings... AEV 2" Lift with Geometry Brackets Profile after lift... Overall, install took twice as long as I planned. Ride quality? Still good but since center of gravity is higher you can feel it. I expected this and installed heavier sway bar to help with...
  9. Payload & Suspension Help

Thanks @CerOf , this was helpful. Based on some reading and your details I wondering how many people are over GVWR?
  10. Payload & Suspension Help

Thanks @Gvsukids. Links helped. Lots of good information in there. Weight is good for tires but I'm over on payload. Even if I air-bag the rear I'm still a bit heavy. I hate to start pulling stuff off; but will have to consider. Maybe I'll suggest that the family start a health diet tonight...
  11. Payload & Suspension Help

First, my question/concern... on full family trips I I'm overloaded and can "feel it" in the drive. A little more squish, more bounce, weight pushes rear down so front is a bit higher. Here's the story - Started with Mojave (curb weight 4,948 lbs) - Adding 2" AEV lift to account for weight of...
  12. Good Garage in Raleigh Area?

Can anyone recommend a good garage in Raleigh area to help me with some modifications? I have some RSE Rock Sliders that I don't feel like messing with and looking for someone to install. Thoughts? Thanks, Eric
  13. Mojave orange mods

Just got my grab handles from @darksidedesign ... couldn't be happier. Colors match perfectly.

Yes it does help, thanks @Free2roam!! I appreciate the information and drawings.
  15. Is there a front receiver hitch with Rubicon steal bumper and skid plate?

Thanks @ShadowsPapa. I appreciate the details; really helps me to visualize the work and prepare mentally for the challenges I might face.
  16. Strength of Custom Hitch???

Thanks @rharr I just found this in another thread. This is exactly what I was thinking... maybe have to adjust.
  17. Strength of Custom Hitch???

Perfect, thank you very much! E
  18. Strength of Custom Hitch???

Thanks @Jaxmax, this is great. Did you use Item Curt # C31086? Did you do this yourself? Also, can you share a "profile" picture? (if you have one) I'd like to see how far the hitch sticks out. From the picture here it doesn't appear that it would impact approach angle much. Thanks, E
  19. Strength of Custom Hitch???

HA! no worries... no offense taken. I'm laughing because it's true. Many types of engineers and I'm the most useless after a collapse. Yeah, there's a few fab shops and I didn't consider car specific ones... that's a great idea.
