Hahahaha I understand that, the stock rubicon would only do 15 mph while other similar tow vehicles were passing us like we were in reverse. We switched to my wife's highlander and it was like it was towing nearly nothing (yes we had both cars there for other reasons). Once again the Jeep...
Unfortunately not true for my Rubicon, It tows fine in FL, but 15 mph on Colorado hills was miserable and dangerous. Even loaded semis were faster. I have towed trailers for 50 years and know how to do it, the 3.6 is just a pig... My wife's Highlander pulled it just fine but not the jeep...
From my perspective a reasonable towing weight is half the published towing capacity. I pull a 17' Casita Travel Trailer, its dry weight is 2480 lbs and usually about 3500 lbs ready for a trip.
It does fine on flat ground but is miserable once the terrain get just a bit hilly. This truck...
WOW, how is it possible that you can be wrong on every single count...
I spent a whole lot of years with the design and manufacture of engines and transmissions. All alloy is horribly unreliable. An alloy block with appropriate thickness steel liners make for a much more reliable engine...
I was speaking with a gentleman who is very familiar with the 3.0L Hurricane engine. He pointed out some serious shortcomings of the engine that one should be aware of before buying a vehicle with that engine, i) the engine is ALL aluminum, the bores are hard chrome plated, there is no steel...
@Hootbro
Wow, it sure is (great eye). The collective knowledge of the interwebs is amazing...
It was under the battery in the battery tray. Probably an errant part but will see if a relay is missing a part. Hahahahaha
@Glizzynator52 Yeah I searched the parts diagrams and no joy... It is in a sandwich bag along with fuse 42. The aux battery delete is working great though.
More of a statement. I think ultimately the proper way to do it is to remove the ESS aux battery and tape off both pos and neg wires and leave them in the empty box. Then put a jumper between N1 and N2, remove fuse 42 then it is easily reversible... Then there are no taped off battery cable...
So electrically this is the same as disconnecting and taping off the ESS negative cable (from the starter battery), moving the ESS positive to the starter positive and removing fuse #42...
The "US" manufacturers did that to themselves.
My wife has driven Toyota vehicles for more than 30 years and it is time to purchase a new vehicle. This time she is going with a Honda Pilot, the turbo 4 in the Toyota highlanders is a non starter.
When I asked if she wanted to go look at the...
Guys, let dispense with the political discussion and police bashing...
I don't give a tinkers damn about your politics or your thoughts on the police.
This thread is about the UAW strike...
BTW, Ford will be the 1st to cave or declare bankruptcy...
Exactly, he is nothing more than an (albeit very successful) authoritarian. It really doesn't matter what a persons politics happen to be, if they are an authoritarian sociopath (or is it psychopath), their goals are: consolidate power, put strict controls on everything, close the ranks with...
