  1. Jeep wave oil change?

What mileage is everyone getting their first oil change? The engineers say to use the oil life indicator, some say sooner. Synthetic should easily be good up to 10,000 miles / 1 year, right?
  2. The 6 speed!

I get it, but I’m a millennial that wouldn’t let several gen X or boomers driver my manual. Blame the auto companies, schools, and parents, not the generation.?
  3. Better gas mileage than expected??

I think you need at least 1,000 miles to get a good reading. The first few miles have a lot of start and stop driving, like at the dealership. Mine reported around 16mpg when I picked it up at the dealership and the first 100 miles or so. Now it is above the EPA highway rating.
  4. Nobody waves anymore.

Sometimes my wave is insufficient when I’m turning and shifting. Always give a good wave when approaching a Jeep head on though.
  5. Nobody waves anymore.

I’ve been wondering if the Wrangler wave is different than the Gladiator wave. I had an XJ for 15 years and no one waved at me, but about 95% of Wranglers and Gladiators wave.
  6. Better gas mileage than expected??

I’ve always used 87 octane. I plan to try higher octane at some point just to see what happens. I think the bed cover, mostly highway driving, Overland gearing, and softtop help. I have a manual, but I assume the gear ratio is similar with the auto.
  7. Better gas mileage than expected??

Ouch. Is this in 2 High?
  8. Better gas mileage than expected??

The painted fenders are smooth. Has to help?
  9. Better gas mileage than expected??

I am seeing 25mpg as my average fuel economy. Anyone getting this? I have a bed cover and most miles have been highway, but this beats the economy shown on the sticker. I calculate about 1 mpg less when I fill up the tank, so 25 mpg might be a little higher than the actual fuel economy.
  10. Climate control air flow increases with vehicle speed

Ram air increasing with speed is normal and expected with the design of the Jeep body. Sometimes vehicles have a negative pressure at the cowl where the air goes in during development, which is corrected during wind tunnel testing. Image air being sucked out of the HVAC; that would be terrible...
  11. Car and Driver has posted a 10,000 mile update to their long term Gladiator review. Pretty negative

Haters gonna hate. Especially people who can’t drive a manual.
  12. Happy with Premium Soft Top?

The hydrophobic coating is pretty impressive. Water forms spheres on mine and do not appear to soak in. I’ve opened the top and had kids yell at me to close the top because they are too cold. I can only image the heartache of taking a hardtop off and then having people tell you to put it back...
  13. Top off with soft top

Good question. Probably taking the 4 screws out for the soft top is enough.
  14. Getting that sweet 7-8% below invoice

When people says 8% off invoice, do you mean 8% off MSRP? The invoice is about 5-6% below MSRP, and dealerships charge invoice. 8% off invoice would be about 13% off of MSRP/ the sticker price. My guess is these numbers include the bonus cash offer that Jeep offers and you really mean MSRP...
  15. Craig Benner 6% Under Invoice at Koons Jeep

The invoice price is 5 to 6% below MSRP, and all dealerships will charge the invoice price. Sounds like Koons is the stereotypical car salesman. I’m sure they are pushing the extended warranty, you know, because of all those electronics.
  16. Gladiator manual transmission crunch sound / noise when shifting

@JeepCares Can you share a video of an expert driver and the normal amount of noise that should be expected with a manual?
  17. Gladiator manual transmission crunch sound / noise when shifting

Everytime I pull in my garage, I hear that very loud noise as I press on the clutch pedal. I couldn’t find a manual to test drive, so I was a little surprised at first. The manual says noise doesn’t mean a problem, so I expect to put 150k miles without any issue.
  18. Mud flaps and Models

The ones from Mopar look a little smaller and little more aesthetically pleasing on the Overland, compared to the Weather Tech. What do you guys thinks?
  19. Weathertech Mud Flaps

Do you mind sharing a few pictures of yours? I also have an Overland. Do the fronts completely protect the bottom of the fender and rocker?
  20. Leaking axle seal?

I hate it when they argue about something that clearly needs to be fixed. These threads are helpful knowing what problems others are having.
