there is a valve actuator near the rear diff on the exhaust. Try to lube it, these tend to dry out and squeak. You can get under the truck and watch it open/close/squeak while you remote start it.
To anyone looking at this;
It ended up being the carrier assembly and bearings (pinion etc.)inside the REAR differential. The rear driveshaft center bearing was also shot. That's an expensive part because the bearing itself is not serviceable, but FCA owned up to it despite my warranty being...
Rear diff pinion seal with new fluid in January(was leaking), and front diff fluid change was done about 1.5 years ago. This truck also had both rear axles replaced, along with some bearing inside the diff, for a very similar noise.
Hi!
My jeep is just out of warranty, and I'm trying to identify a speed related whine/hum before throwing parts at the truck.
The noise is not present when front is locked and rears are spinning on ice, and it does not change when turning. Does not change with 4hi or 4lo either.
Here is a...
If anyone gets stranded in a remote location with that stupid DEF countdown to 0, there's a way to jump relays to start the truck.
Just connect pins 30 & 87 on START/STOP relay, then do the same with STARTER relay.
This saved me from calling a tow truck, I hope it helps someone else.
I started noticing erratic behavior when in a rainstorm about 2 months ago. (service throttle etc.)
I erased the codes with my bluetooth scanner to make it home. It did not come back for a while.
I mentioned it to the dealer. He said I should have kept the codes in there and nothing wrong...
I installed the filter with the foam facing down, as it should be.
From what I can see, the filter was sucked into the intake for whatever reason; the turbo was pulling air from it, making it distort and letting dirt through..
Hi everyone!
My jeep has been full of problems during the last few months. I took it to the dealer multiple times(like 5 or 6) for code p2002, they changed a bunch of sensors etc. but nothing fixed it.
Yesterday the truck was almost undriveable(service throttle, traction, loss of power etc.)...
Lol, I've been driving with this code for months. I noticed that the exhaust tip is quite black on the inside, so other than maybe dirtier egr gases I dont think it's a problem.
I've been to the dealer 3 times for this exact same code. So far they have forced a regen(p2002), changed an O2 sensor (p026d), and the particulate matter sensor(p2002). p2002 keeps coming back after long drives (1.5 hr +); I suspect a faulty DPF. Prior to the dealer visits, I had tried to...
