I must have jinxed myself when I replied to your post the other day.
I should have looked at your pic and kept scrolling. This afternoon towing my boat back from Florida the same thing happened to me. Definitely isn't fun changing trailer tires on the side of I-10.
As far as the rest of the...
Today was the first real towing I did with my gladiator. Towed my boat from N.O.L.A. area over to the Destin FL. Trip is right at 175 miles on I-10.
Boat and trailer set up is 6k lbs.
Gladiator did fine. I kept my speed around 60-65. I mostly kept the 8 speed in manual mode. Seems to do well...
Good point about the GCWR.
In the Overland that number is 11,100.
After going over the scales I was 80 lbs over. My guess is the Mojave would be the same since it also has a 6k tow.
The Mojave is probably a little heavier than my truck so that could be a small factor. Here are my weights from...
My overland has a 6k tow rating also.
My boat is right at 6k lbs.
Yesterday I towed in about 25 miles to a set of scales to verify the weight before towing it to Florida next week. The truck seemed to do fine. It's very stable. The 3.6 isn't the most powerful but it did ok.
Around 60-65mph...
Definitely 6k lbs.
Boat with ttop and options I have is 4500.
Trailer is 1200.
Add batteries, tackle and other stuff that's right at 300 lbs.
Any time I tow I try to have very little fuel on board. That saves about 400 lbs.
So ya, very close to 6k
I will be towing to Florida next week so I'll...
Towed my 24' boat yesterday for the first time. Only towed it about 10 miles or so, but I can say it did better than I expected.
Boat and trailer is right around 6k.
So today I towed my boat with my Gladiator for the first time. Gladiator is a little over a month old. My truck is an Overland with towing package and has a 6k tow rating. My previous truck was a 2016 Sierra with the 5.3.
I generally only tow it once or twice a year. Once to go to...
Mine is the exact same.
2500+ miles, and not once has it kicked in.
Maybe some old school engineers at Jeep got tired of the ESS and made changes in the software so that it virtually never kicks in...lol
That guy would be a hero in my book!
Wow...you are definitely a fan of ESS.
I bet if you take a poll of gladiator owners on this forum the vast majority will agree these sort of ideas to reduce emissions do more harm than good. I have seen several post about the "second battery" going out and leaving people stranded.
I'll take...
I'm not worried about the starters wearing out. I'm worried about the 50 different sensors and electrical/computer components needed to make this system work. All of which probably saves about 1/2 gallon per year if you're lucky.
Its unnecessary if you ask me.
So I have basically tried all of the above. It's not set to lowest temp and definitely not the light break pedal thing. When I scroll through the dash pages it says cabin is heating or cooling. One day I had the a/c temp on about 70 and it still never kicked in. Don't misunderstand me, I am...
That's how my gladiator is.
My gmc Sierra would take 5x that long to get up to 190ish.
Tomorrow morning I will definitely look at the actual analog gauge in the offroad page just to see if there is a difference in the little temp needed on the left side of the center display.
I have seen that posted a few times, so I thought maybe so.
Saturday morning about 7am, it had just rained and was low-mid 70s outside.
I drove about 15 miles to Lowes.
The a/c was off for a few then I turned it on low heading back. Stop/start still never kicked in. I hope it stays like this...
I have had my 21' Gladiator for almost a month. I have right at 2k miles on it.
I absolutely love it. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
I have 2 questions for you guys.
First one is about the stop/start.
So far, my gladiator has not done the stop/start cycle. Not 1 single time.
I...
I used to think the same thing.
2 weeks ago my neighbor traded in his 2018 Honda accord. It was constantly in the shop with electrical issues.
As far as the Gladiator (Chrysler) goes, my buddy has a fleet of dodge pickups for his company. They have no more or less problems then Ford or...
