I picked up a 3W one about 2 years ago. Once installed all functions worked except i could not roll up my passenger rear window using the main/front window controls. I can manually roll up the rear passenger window using the rear window controls. All windows down/up using the fob works...

As of now i have had no issues related to the heat from the two heater hoses. I have seen that others have mounted the radio base in the area below the steering wheel.

I had an issues with a rattle behind me that turned out to the cable that is connected to the sliding rear window rattling against the glass. Maybe something the check.

Not sure on the sound. I only ever use the speaker on the handset itself. I can't imagine that you would get a good sound through the unit back there.

If I had to do it again, my first try would be to line the tubes on one side with this tape.

Yes it is. Brown is ground and red is 12v. I was not able to find that written anywhere, including the included instructions.

It's attached to two aluminum tubes going towards the top of the firewall with a zip tie. Not 100% sure what they are lol. Red is the two tubes, yellow is the zip tie. The zip tie was a huge bitch to put on and tighten. I would recommend 3M VHB tape instead.

No. I didn't modify the back of the mic/handset. Yes the grooves we're in the way, but i didn't have to dremel or modify and the magnet did stick with the included double sided adhesive. You can potentially modify/cut the standard mic clip to be flat rather than the handset it self. Another idea...

No issues so far. Finally got a chance to test the"mount" off road and no issues as well. Never fell off lol.

Item #2 for me and also after getting the bed lined as well. I went with line-x. The overall utility of the rails is definitely something to consider. Although i can see myself using it more for when the bed isnt completely full. But i can be wrong.
