Definitely not the engine spark knock issue. Symptoms dont jive with the tsb report. The sound only comes between 1500-2000 rpm and only when in gear. I dont lose power and its not a ping or knocking sound. Sounds more like a transmission, transfer case or even possible torque converter...
I have this noise currently on my 22 Rubi, between 1500- 2000 rpm happens if im giving gas or letting off in that range. Have you resolved what the cause was?
Did you ever find out what the problem or cause was? Im now getting the exact same sound at 13k on my 22 rubi. I can replicate at 1500-2000 rpm and 20-30 mph, loud then softer and intermittent.
I had the right rear axle replaced a second time about 300 miles ago and so far its dry. I'm not convinced it's a fix yet as the last one went 800 miles before it leaked again.
2021 willys 2300 miles and brakes feel soft. Have to put my foot in it to get a solid braking feel or pump once then brake to get a good feel. My wife has a new wrangler 2022 and the brakes are touchy which I'd prefer. Going to ask service to check with oil change in a couple weeks.
So looking at videos of replacement and the part on mopar site the Gladys rear axle shaft looks to have a similar rubber seal. So not sure what they were saying metal on metal etc. All strange to me.
I just had #2 done Monday. Cleaned it up today with degreaser and power washer. Dry for now, let's see, it only took 3 weeks for the last one to leak again. From all the brakleen they used to clean up diff fluid the aluminum backing plate that the housing is attached to looks 5 years older than...
With each housing are you getting new axles too? I'm told the axle units when removed destroy the seal so the unit can not be reused. So if they replace the housing you must get new axles on both sides. Pretty expensive for them to not want to figure this out in a hurry.
I love my dealership, don't get me wrong, they do a great job and have taken great care of me through all of this. I spoke directly to the tech today that did the work and he said there is a tsb for this issue that mentions porous metal surfaces and they changed the sealant prep with a new...
Im off to the dealer to pick up my truck after the 2nd axle repair. The dealer told me that Chrysler is now putting a new sealant on the axle seals that that is a working sealant for metal to metal contacts that should take care of the leak issue I'm not sure whether to believe this or not or...
So what about all the people that had replacement axles already and they are leaking a second or 3rd time after replacement I'm going in for my 2nd replacement in 2 weeks
Had it looked at today.....leaking and axle order #2 in process with 4-6 weeks part backorder. My dealership, Quirk in Braintree, MA is awesome btw, but I wish FCA would figure this out and help owners and dealerships with this frustration.
Well I'm off to the dealer tomorrow for eval, repair #2, my guess is eval first, wasting my days away. Noticed leak at 250 miles, Had repair in August at 600 miles or so with leak recurring in late November with 1500 miles, now 1680 miles and leak is as it was originally. If they don't have a...
So my first repair was a complete fail now after just 800 miles, back to full leak like the original today, made appt for Jan 5 to have it looked at and then I guess we figure out from there when repair can be done again.... : (
