I got the Clayton Overland 2.5 for diesel, and Fox 2.0 shocks. I’m happy with the ride. I do wonder if the Triangulated 4 link would have been a better choice to avoid the brief and slight back and forth yaw when the suspension oscillates at speed. I’ve heard it referred to as “axle cross talk”...
I would still recommend him. He doesn’t always get back in a timely manner. But maybe because he’s working on a lot of jobs. I’d just call him of you feel he’s taking to long to get back to you. He’s pretty cool. I noticed several vehicles in stages of repair at his shop when I was there. Ryan...
A few things I considered when making my choice. How easy are they to clean out? How heavy are they? Will they always function regardless of the situation, damage or weather (ie: ice or hardened mud). Therefore I chose rock sliders from RockHard. They were far less expensive than the RSE. I...
That’s what I’ve got. The diesel version. No complaints. But I do sometimes wonder if a triangulated 4 link would have been a better option. I get what I believe is that “axle cross talk” I hear about. It happens on the freeway over undulating surfaces.
Nice rig. Thanks for the pics. I’m considering the same tire. I currently run Nitto RGs 37x12.5. Your tire would shed 11 lbs per corner. Regarding your functional hood vents and the CAI, what performance improvements have you noticed? And is your diesel running any cooler because of these mods...
I recently had mine replaced per the recall. But the service manager did say that they were sitting on inventory that needed the pump replaced before they could sell them. He no longer works there so take it for what it’s worth.
I went with these from Rockhard. They replace the original sliders (not sure why you’d wanna keep both on?). $900 and excellent customer service. They accidentally sent me the wrong version but quickly addressed the problem and sent out the correct ones. They seem indestructible but I’ve never...
As of today, My JTRD (35k miles) has been sitting in the back lot of “Jeep Only” (Las Vegas) for almost two months now waiting for a new oil pump. Last week I inquired about the HPFP recall and they said that part is unavailable at this time.
Update; after 7 weeks, the Gladiator is still at the dealership service department. They say the oil pump is bad but no diesel oil pumps are available anywhere. They said it’s likely because of the strike. I asked about my HPFP recall and was told that the parts for that fix are also unavailable...
That’s good advice, and I probably will spring for a better quality (accurate) torque wrench. But for now, the Jeep is already at the dealership so not much I can do at this point, gotta see how it plays out.
Got a 21 JTRD with periodic low oil pressure light (although the pressure numbers seem normal). Warning light came on shortly after I personally changed the oil with mopar oil and filter provided by the dealership (33k miles/4th oil change. Three previous oil changes were completed by the...
There’s a black JTRD in the showroom at Jeep Only in Las Vegas. I talked to the sales staff. They aren’t authorized to sell it. Apparently it’s just for show? Lol. I asked them this week about the HPFP recall. Still no solution. I assume that’s why they aren’t aloud to sell it. I questioned if...
