  1. Brake booster check valve hiss

yes I may do that. It looks like the check valve comes with it/attached. This is what I think happened: the seal between the check valve and booster, let some air in, when I nudged the tube/hose. So first I’ll try pulling the check valve out of the booster, clean the seals, apply a tiny tiny...
  2. Brake booster check valve hiss

How do I remove the check valve to check this assembly out? Does it pull straight out? Hmm maybe it’s threaded.
  3. Brake booster check valve hiss

I removed the coolant tank bracket to do some coolant maintenance and I put a little stress on the brake booster tubing, which goes to the brake booster check valve. Intermittently, as I move the tube, I hear a hiss from what seems to be the check valve. Has this happened to anyone? I...
  4. Official: 2026 Gladiator - What's New + Willys ‘41 Buzz Model Special Edition Annouced

The lack of a bolt on the external hinges does make removing the doors easier. IT IS ALSO A SAFETY RISK. If the Jeep is upside down and you open the door, there is risk that the door will fall off. The previous design with the bolt prevents the door from coming off.
  5. Auxiliary switches

I really like the factory switches. My JT did not come with them. My solution is a custom setup. I’m running dedicated wire from the battery, with a small fuse block and relay in the cabin, and on/off switch at the top of the dash.
  6. I love my Gladiator

I love my Gladiator! I have a 7 month old handsome son, and I’m taking him on a pavement cruise today! What jeep stuff are you up to?
  7. Looking at a used 2020 JT Rubicon but Carfax says "induction system has been serviced twice, 1 year apart."

Not sure whether anyone has mentioned this… it may be possible to pull the service history from the dealer. This may provide more details, even the previous owners concerns, if any. Life is full of uncertainties. You’ll be fine!
  8. Not impressed with Gladiator performance in snow

I see what you’re saying! A wider track will help when turning/cornering, as less weight is going to be transferred. So, more traction and stability. The stock JT is long (long wheelbase) and narrow, so it throws its weight around. This makes the JT slide out/fishtail. I also like to spread...
  9. Manual Shift option wears out transmission

I manually shift for ~70% of my driving. My JT has ~38K miles. No problems. I’m planning on doing a pan drop and fill soon. I manually shift because I prefer to keep the RPM up instead of letting the trans drop to 7th gear when I’m doing 43 mph lol
  10. Not impressed with Gladiator performance in snow

Troverman, I also have an Overland with part time 4wd. I share your experience in the snow. I think it’s due to the relatively long wheel base and an empty bed. My previous JKU was great in the snow… my JT is amazing but I wish it had the snow performance of my JKU. Potential improvements...
  11. How much longer do I have?

I don’t know much about the diesels so I can only wish you the best. If you know that there will be a problem… like others have said, consider getting rid of it.
  12. Creaking wheels

Hmm one path is to add water or lubricant to a joint/rubber while turning the wheel, as you described. So for example, add water or lubricant to one end of a control arm, then turn the wheel (as you described) and listen for the creak. If the creak goes away, you know where the problem is. Do...
  13. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

Do you know of a YouTube video that shows how to remove the stuff at the back of the cab? I’m rather, umm, impatient sometimes, and I don’t want to break anything.
  14. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

I placed 80 mil butyl sound proofing mat on the bottom of the cab. I took the seats and carpet out. I also added the same stuff on the panels (under the headliner). This made a big improvement. I’m very happy with it. To further improve noise, sound deadener can be added to the back of the...
  15. My Takeaway - OW20 in Winter and 5W30 in Summer

I find this blog interesting. What he says is very logical https://540ratblog.wordpress.com/2013/06/20/motor-oil-wear-test-ranking/
  16. My Takeaway - OW20 in Winter and 5W30 in Summer

Lunentucker, I do the same… 0w20 in the winter and 5w30 in the summer. On a somewhat related note: I’m actually using the same oil filter for ~15k miles/3 oil changes. I think I’ve gone ~6k on it so far. I’ll inspect it, take pictures, and create a post. I can’t be the only one who will find...
  17. My Takeaway - OW20 in Winter and 5W30 in Summer

Lower viscosities are used to decrease our use of fossil fuels. Just look at the definition of viscosity. Viscosity is a measure of a liquid’s resistance to flow. Higher viscosity results in less efficiency. Less efficiency results in more gasoline. Engineers have many challenges. And their...
  18. Very small tear on leather seat

    I’ll look into this, thanks!
  19. Very small tear on leather seat

I was thinking that as well, but I know nothing about caring for leather and don’t want to create more of an issue.
