The inner pads don't align with the top of the tailgate on my truck the way I have it set up. That said: no damage to any of my bikes. Since the tailgate is so short the frame doesn't interact with the inner pads either way.
Reviving this thread to post that the Fox pad can work with the third brake light and the camera. Check out how I adjusted it to make it work. As I mentioned above, a little Velcro or something similar right above the camera provides enough clearance for it to work.
I was able to get my Fox pad to work with the camera. I just adjusted the pad up nice and high and wrapped a small Velcro strap around the bottom of the pad to expose the camera.
I'm using the Homelink buttons on the sunvisor to control this wireless remote switch. Just mount this in a decent waterproof plastic box in your engine bay, run your wires through a waterproof strain relief and you don't need to run anything through the firewall...
