  1. CP4 Fuel Pump EcoDiesel Recall

Not sure what Bosch uses those for, would need to look closer at a pump in the shop.
  2. Has anyone seen these codes?

Have a look under your rig, the low pressure egr pipe draws from after the dpf. If that pipe is cracked it can lead to the P049B code and P0101 code. P0299 could be the exhaust valve fully closing to try to drive more low pressure egr. This chokes off flow and could prevent turbo from...
  3. NOx code, egr replace @29k

Only that one fault code? Can you get some pictures of the egr soot loading? P20EE typically is an issue relating to DEF system, NOx sensors or SCR. For a service regen not to run there has to be other codes active, P20EE will not disable a regen.
  4. Bosch CP4 Fuel pump operational mode review by Green Diesel Engineering

This is copied from GDE, it does pertain to all GEN3 ecodiesel engines and might be useful for some. The CP4 Bosch fuel pump has been in the field since 2008 model year with European OEMs in both 1-plunger (CP4.1) and 2-pluger (CP4.2) configurations. It came to the US market in the 2011 model...
  5. oil burn on new gladiator rubicon diesel

You need to pull a 5,000 lb trailer around for 500 miles. This will help set the rings and oil blow-by will subside. The Gen3 ecodiesel uses low-tension piston rings. Good for less friction, bad for blow-by.
  6. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

The foam is strictly for sound abatement. Long term you should eliminate the K&N filter. The oiled versions pass larger particle size and not good for compressor wheel life. If you have a cone style, then it is also pulling in hotter air from under the hood, this will reduce fuel economy...
  7. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

Green Diesel Engineering has attempted 3 EO applications with CARB in the past. All passed the emission tests, but were rejected for test vehicle model year, tire configuration, chain of custody and some other BS reasons. We incurred a large bill, just attempting the process. Voting matters...
  8. Green Diesel Engineering or Banks

The banks intercepts boost and fuel rail pressure signals and fakes the numbers. Our fuel system is 2000 bar max (29,000 psi range) and with banks the pressure can reach close to 2300 bar, this is way above Bosch limits and will lead to shorter CP4 life...Bad idea. Faking the boost sensor...
  9. Turbo boost logic?

The 'service throttle' message only comes on if there is an active engine fault code. Does your diag tool read the fault codes? If you can post the codes, Pxxxx format, resolution will be much easier. Your dealer may not have even checked the codes, maybe just cleared them. The regen process...
  10. Turbo boost logic?

Jeepin48, The screenshots are showing you were in regen mode. It seems to be running normally. The EGT is getting hotter, looks like a warmup stage in the regen process to get exhaust up to 1200 F for about 20 minutes. The 100% soot is a good give away. It will show higher load during a...
  11. Turbo lag?

The Green Diesel tune below will improve off the line response significantly and make it feel more linear. The tune over 2 seconds quicker 0-60. Improved fuel economy to boot. https://greendieselengineering.com/product/ecodiesel-gen3-performance-fuel-economy-tuning/
  12. So I got a spare pcm…now hawhat tooo dooo

Even with HP Tuner tool you will need to mail out the PCM to have it unlocked. The stock ecm settings do no allow for OBD flashing due to signature encryption.
  13. So I got a spare pcm…now hawhat tooo dooo

Technically, we have not yet been hit by EPA, but still in negotiations with them for 3+ years. Once they dig in, hard to break free. Oil temps and EGT are not changed with GDE tune vs. stock. We keep the factory safety limits for coolant, oil and exhaust gas temps. It will pull fuel out when...
  14. So I got a spare pcm…now hawhat tooo dooo

Is sound your number one goal? For most folks the goals are fuel economy, less turbo lag, improved performance and cleaner engine oil. The Green Diesel Engineering tuning outperforms the illegal tunes on all of these metrics. If exhaust note is primary driver, we cannot help you there. The...
  15. Banks Pedal monster

You are in the midst of the placebo effect. The pedal monster does nothing for adding power or torque. It only fakes out the pedal %, so you get full juice at less throttle input. Same as pushing pedal to the floor every time you accelerate. If you are looking to gain real power/torque and...
  16. MRTuning Stage 2 and transmission tune.

This will not happen on the ecodiesel. However, Green Diesel tuning changes the fuel system governing from CCP to MPROP control on the CP4. This reduces CP4 wear issues with less harmonic resonance.
  17. Blowby

These engines use "low-tension" piston rings, some engines seem to set the rings better than others. Is this a low mile engine? It is good to pull a mid-size trailer for a few hundreds miles with varying speeds. This will help set the rings and can reduce blow-by. I run the oil level closer...
  18. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

Most likely not, it does not make fiscal sense to spend $100,000 to certify for one state. Once bitten, twice shy.
  19. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

Of course you should cancel the Banks stuff, it is not comparable to the GDE tune. Correct on mailing both ecms in if you have a spare, they are hard to find these days. The clone ecm and setup for your vehicle is $750. Subtract $300 if you supply the blank ecm.
  20. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

That is all correct. We have a few ecms in stock for this venture.
