  1. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

Call GDE. They can set up a clone ecm if desired now. If you need an ecm as well, the cost is $750. You still need to mail in your stock ecm for the cloning process.
  2. Diesel JT. Too much torque for D44s...

Green Diesel Engineering has a good solution for you!
  3. WARNING! Gen 3. Oil change not possible.

Hard to find another diesel engine manufacturer that specs an SN (gasoline) rated engine oil. Most spec a CK (diesel rated). Diesel rated engine oils have additive packages for the higher pressures exerted on the piston, rings and liners. Seems odd to change oil spec between Gen2 and Gen3...
  4. GDE tune plus big tires & different gearing

Can you clarify this statement? What biohazard comes out after running like what?
  5. GDE tune plus big tires & different gearing

Not sure about any firmware issue, the tire size data is in the BCM. The issue lies with the road load at 55mph. With the axle change and tires, the loads increase significantly and the vehicle coastdown is different. This is what needs to be certified with EPA pertaining to the emission...
  6. GDE tune plus big tires & different gearing

GDE is not tuning vehicles that are heavily modified from factory as we have no means of testing them in our facility. If OEM did not validate an axle ratio, it would cost us a ton of funds to certify with EPA. For low volume, it does not make a good business case. Nothing to do with...
  7. Egr,DPF delete while in mexico.

Or you could save a lot of money and frustration and get the Green Diesel Tune. We compared those northern weight loss tunes from up north, funny stuff. The GDE tune on Gen3 is about 1 second quicker 0-60 and gets better fuel economy. Does not make sense to change all those parts to go...
  8. error code P24C6

The PM sensor has a temp sensor in it that has failed. You need a new PM sensor, should be covered under warranty.
  9. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

Correct. Same way GM, Ford and Cummins utilize engine braking on the larger trucks.
  10. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

No it does not, as there is no fuel being burned when engine brake is active. The pressures are low compared to any time the engine has a load on it.
  11. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

We are not planning to do mail in clone setups. Best to get your local dealer to setup a spare ecm for you and then ship your original stock unit to us for tuning. Thanks GDE
  12. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

Early adopters have base engine and trans tunes. The options we added during the last two weeks. You will need an update for options.
  13. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

That cable works fine, one drive in customer used that and nary an issue. Yes, the by-pass is needed for the trans tune.
  14. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

The GDE Tune is now available at https://greendieselengineering.com/product/fca_ecodiesel_gen3/
  15. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

Best to visit your local dealer and ask to check part number on PCM and TCM. GDE cannot tell if yours is updated from a distance. If it is not updated, GDE can update it with WiTech, but it cost extra and Jeep/Ram want their cut.
  16. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

Mostly a Jeep thing as the Ram already has cold shifting raised from factory, whereas Jeep did not. You will have performance issues and possibly codes if you try to run the engine tune without the trans tune.
  17. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

No changes planned for the warm-up at this time. The GDE website was having some issues and we took most of this week off for Thanksgiving. We will have it on the website next week sometime.
  18. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

We had a drive in customer on Monday that had a competitor stage 1 tune on this truck from north of the border. The GDE tune as a comparison has higher hp and torque throughout the operating range and was about 0.7 seconds quicker on 0-60 run. We ran an emission prep cycle on this Canadian...
  19. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

The GDE can be overwritten by a dealer. GDE wants it updated before tuning, so there is no chance the dealer would inadvertently wipe out the new tune during something benign as an oil change. If a recall comes out, then best to get the new software and update with GDE afterwards for $50.
