I've tried the two dealers within 1 hour, both stated unless there is a "problem", they would not touch it, unless I paid a diagnostic fee. Which with that, they would only update the effected items.

Awesome! Did those of us who were early adopters get the regen messaging option or was that not available at the time? The GDE Tune is now available at https://greendieselengineering.com/product/fca_ecodiesel_gen3/

Trust me, you would know if you had the regen messaging option. On one hand, it's nice to be able to monitor regens. On the other hand, it's rather annoying since it pops up more frequently than you might imagine. And when it does pop up, you feel the need to let the regen complete before shutting down the engine. The 2020+ engines might not regen as often as the 2014 - 2019 engines, so it could be a good option on the 2020+ engines. I'm not sure I would recommend the regen messaging option on the 2014 - 2019 engines. I don't regret paying the $50 dollars to have the regen messaging, but I can see how it might bother some owners. Anyway, that's my feedback.Awesome! Did those of us who were early adopters get the regen messaging option or was that not available at the time?
Any chance of you doing a video on swapping out the PCM?There were times I did go to manual shift mode. Thankful the Jeep comes with that.
Part # is P68256850AA
At this time, any changes would require the PCM to be mailed back to them. I already have cat-back exhaust and I've had a cold air intake kit on order since summer, so any day now on it... I hope the GDE tuning plays nice with the intake when/if it ever arrives.
I think that's a wise choice. The modules could potentially be a bad idea, but mainly I didn't want the hassle of having visible hardware to remove before dealer visits, especially with the complexity of the Banks installation.
We are not planning to do mail in clone setups. Best to get your local dealer to setup a spare ecm for you and then ship your original stock unit to us for tuning. Thanks GDEWill you clone a spare PCM with the stock unit for an additional fee if I ship it in with the stocker? What kind of turn around time are we looking at? Could we buy now but ship in a month or so to lock in the new pricing? Thanks!
I have a Scan Guage to monitor all this stuff with, so I'm not worried about it. I was just curious.Trust me, you would know if you had the regen messaging option. Sure, I'll look into it. Shouldn't be too bad, it's right in front of the main battery.Any chance of you doing a video on swapping out the PCM?
The way he explained it to me, the trans programming has a lot of torque management built into it from the factory, so if you run the engine tune without the trans tune you basically won't realize any of the added benefits. It'll be like trying to shove a grapefruit through a garden hose. Not to mention he said there could be fault codes set and possible CELs.Can we get an engine tune without the trans tune? The trans tune feels fine to me, I wouldn't change anything
Thank you, I'm not looking to push max high torque values, this thing isn't fast by any metric and won't be any faster unless you put a hellcat engine in there. So the stock torque management is fine with me, I'm more into the running cooler and improved EGR/DPF action + optimized fueling.I have a Scan Guage to monitor all this stuff with, so I'm not worried about it. I don't think that has to do with the trans programming. I think that's related to engine coolant temperatures. 242F or higher will send the PCM into derate mode and it'll reduce power. If you have the 8.4" screen with Off Road Pages, you can use that screen to monitor all your temps at once. I love that feature.@WXman I keep seeing your posts about the tight torque management to protect the trans and can't help think this is what could be softening the power curve/de-rating while towing? This weekend was my first tow out with our new 3800# Geo Pro RV and the temps were a cool 50's while enroute, yet there were times where we were rolling up a 7% grade and it felt like I just let off the skinny pedal without any temps that I had seen cause it in the past.
I don't recall coolant temp being 242°+ and that's why I was thinking this. Oil temp was definitely in the 240's range though.I don't think that has to do with the trans programming. Try a lower gear, engine might be getting lugged by the transI don't recall coolant temp being 242°+ and that's why I was thinking this. Oil temp was definitely in the 240's range though.
That's actually an interesting thought. Although everyone likes to "hold gear" when going uphill it's actually a bad idea for a number of reasons. On "older" engines the water pump is driven by a belt off the crankshaft, so coolant velocity is linked to RPMs. Lower gear for a given speed = more RPMs = more flow. Anyone know if this engine's water pump is crank driven or is it entirely electrical these days?Try a lower gear, engine might be getting lugged by the trans
