Interested in learning more about GDE 3rd Gen tune for JTRD-- anyone with first hand, real-world experience? Good or bad? For 2021 JTRD with 2.5" Clayton Offroad lift kit on 37s...

I don't know much about them but do know there are a couple of others who tune the ecodiesel.

Well if you read this thread you would see they don’t recommend the tune with bigger tires and lift so there is that…

Looks to be the issue would arise with gearing and tires. Obviously the lift don’t matter.

Can’t speak to how it would be with the Gladiator, but my previous truck was an 18 RAM Ecodiesel, 3.92 gears, limited slip, GDE hot tune & their transmission tune. Upgraded from stock suspension with the Bilstein 5100 lift/level. 35” BFG All Terrains from stock 33” Goodyears. The dealer corrected my speedometer calibration for the 35’s.

The Ecodiesel, even untuned, had enough torque that the 35’s were not an issue. The GDE tunes turned the truck into a different animal all together. Exceptional low end torque, crisp shifts, good fuel economy and enough power to utilize 8th no matter the driving conditions.

My only complaint is that the E tires were heavy. They definitely changed the way the pickup rode, especially on not so smooth back roads.

Although a topic for a different thread, the Ecodiesel was not without issue. Timing cover oil leak @ 4,000 miles which was made worse by the dealer attempting to shortcut the repair. Took 3 trips to get right. I can’t speak to long term ownership of one, but from everything I’ve heard and read… with that engine, you could end up with a hero … or a zero.

I do not regret my decision to stick with the pentastar in the Jeep.

I am running 37" KO2's on my JL with a Mopar lift and GDE tune and the Jeep really doesn't care even with 1500 lbs of utility trailer on the back. 22-24 MPG and 0-60 in less than 6 if I launch it at 2500 rpm and put it on 4wd...

Prayer? Seriously, I work at the dealership. If I have any issues, flash the transmission back to stock, have the shop write over the PCM and fix it. GDE wants $50 to re-flash the computer.
