Thanks for that reassurance! A 90s Ford 7.3 IDI diesel pulled up to the other side of the diesel pump I was at this week and reminded me how just how loud injector pop can get.
That's funny!
When I test drove my 2002 f250 with the 7.3 my wife said "it's kind of loud".
I said "that's a diesel baby"!

I was told it would be a revised CP4 and with no software updates.
That's about what I figured. I bet the ones that never got a recall notice have that revised pump. We could be the beta testers for it.

For those that have done the gde tune, how has it been? Thinking of pulling the trigger with engine breaking and ecu clone. Has anyone swapped in the stock ecu for dealership ?

I've had mine about a month. 2 days after installing I drove 1200 miles towing a loaded dual axle enclosed uhaul trailer without any issues. I got 19mpg average for the trip. I purchased the same as what you are looking at, but also got the regen alert.

I can attest to the other comments in this thread about how more response the engine is with this tune.

I have not had to swap back to stock for dealer visit. But given how easy the install was the swap back will be just as easy.

Are you running stock tire sizes and gears?

Yes, I am still running 33" tires nad stock gears. I planning on doing either 35" or 37" in the very near future. I will have to do a tazer to re-calibrate the speedo. I don't plan on going about above 37" so I'm not planning on re-gearing.

Keith Diesel clarified. There was conflicting info about running a GDE tune and being able to regear or increase tire size.

Keith confirmed you can use jscan/alphaOBD to change those settings and not effect the tune.

I just did the GDE & trans tune and the jscan does work to update the tire size. I am on 37" and stock gearing. This is the best Jeep of the 3 I owned.

Thanks for the Feed Back, GDE is on my 2025 list, first i need to get those 37's.

Keep us posted on how you like the tune.
