Always been nervous about this style of slider. The factory rails aren't all that strong from what I've experienced and if these push into the factory slider with a decent sized fall, would the factory rail be pushed into the tub causing permanent damage?
I've run LoD on multiple jeeps now, but I've been scared away from the Destroyer steps being used as a slider based on the reports of them pushing up into the tub on the JLs. Unfortunately, I've seen it firsthand on one in my local Jeep club. Here is the thread to the Wrangler forums:
LOD...
Can understand that. The Sundown I chose for the FoxBox had a depth of 5 5/8" so I ended up buying the .25" spacer as well. Worked out perfect and allowed for the proper amount of air space. For the cost, I couldn't find a better option.
Running amber DRLs was one of the main reasons I got them. I had the factory Mopar LEDs and still decided to buy these as I thought it would help them stand out from all the other Jeeps around me. Their 8-year warranty was another big selling factor for me.
They blink amber along with the fender turn signals. A really nice setup for those who don't run fenders or for those of us that are considering going to a different style fender in the near future.
Was there something you feel is missing from the FoxBox? I've had mine for over two years now and it's been rock solid and it absolutely pounds. People are surprised it's only a single 10".
Planning a trip out later this month. Planning to run Chicken Corners on day 1, Fin and Hell's on day 2, Top of the World on day 3. Really looking forward to it. Been a bucket list location for me for quite some time.
My total came out to $49.74 with $4.25 in tax for a grand total of $53.99. I just did an oil change, but for this price, ill set some aside for the future.
Thanks for the heads up!!
There are quite a few tri-fold hard tonneau covers on eBay under $300. They look suspiciously similar to the Tyger ones.

Steel-It can be great, but it can also get expensive quickly at nearly $40 per can. I prefer having the bumpers powder coated if you have a decent shop that can do it for you. You might find that it's actually cheaper than Steel-It and you don't have to do it yourself :)
The Motobilt stuff I have seen has been of a much better quality than Rugged Ridge. Motobilt is typically going to cost more and you'll also have to have it finished/coated as they ship their parts in bare metal. IMHO, the added cost is worth it though as their products will take a beating.
