Congrats on the new purchase!
If you have the aux switches, there is a 12v key on and always on wire in the bundle under the glove compartment. It's pretty easy to remove the trim along the A pillar and route the wire down that way. That's what I did for my dash cam.
Well, found some time to test fitment. A little finicky to adjust, but happy with the look. Didn't keep them on because some wet weather is coming, but hopefully I'll get some time to fully try them out soon.
Not sure where people settled on this (I skimmed the thread), but this already mimicked my experience. I posted a thread a while back when I drove a Rivian R1T for a bit. Don't remember if I talked about costs, but I can believe some of this (definitely depends how you are charging).
I looked...
Well, I was trying to be good and not purchase anything for a while but that didn't happen.
Found a deal on a full set of new tube doors locally for $200. Even the instruction manual and accessory bolts were still sealed. Wasn't planning on purchasing tube doors but my impulses got the better...
Long term (~1.5 yr) update on this. Still very happy with it, although soon after using them I found that most of the time I loaded up my bikes I didn't really need access to opening the bed (simply access into the bed was good enough).
Because of this, I moved to using the short legs full time...
I haven't purchased a lot to match the orange (have tried to keep it subtle), but thought I'd share a couple things I have.
Lasfit Pod lights with the amber lenses match pretty well with the Mojave orange.
Not intentional, but I also have a ridgid toolbox I keep in the back that has...
Update - Like I mentioned before, posted mine up for $800 (Facebook Marketplace) at the beginning of Feb. Took about 3 weeks, ended up taking $600 for them, which I think is relatively fair for both sides.
Not speaking for everyone, but I went in this order (I have a Mojave):
- Offroaded, noted areas where I would scrape
- Came across a deal on the AEV 2" lift, snagged it and installed Apex Autolynx along with it.
- Went back and redid some trails. Noticed I still scraped, but less
- Found a deal...
I've had the lift installed since around May of last year and been very happy with it. To answer some of your questions:
- I didn't notice any difference in ride quality.
- I got the correction brackets (bought the rancho ones, not the AEV ones). I put it on the highest lift option (for 3"+...
Completely get this. I did the same. Bought a new in box AEV kit off marketplace, installed it a few months later (last May), then finally got wheels and tires about a month ago.
As you step further back the 33s + lift start to become less and less appealing, especially if you start to look at the vehicle from an angle (wheel offset plays a huge visual roll in how large the tires look).
That being said, I got compliments on it in person even with the stock 33s + AEV...
I just posted mine locally with a bit less miles on them for $800. If I don't get any takers I might see if I can pop the bead on them, keep my tpms sensors, and then sell the tires and wheels separately (there are a lot of non jeep wheels being sold locally so I'm hoping I might reach a bigger...
Nope, the aux switch bundle contains wiring for all 4 aux switches + a switched ignition on wire + an always on wire. I'm using all 4 of my aux switches in addition to my hardwired dash cam.
