Someone who is an expert please share your opinion as to what this noise is or its “normal”. The warm condition has a more pronounced ticking noise than cold.
I have two recording of engine. The first is a cold start at 25F.
The second is after 20 minutes which is pretty warm.
This set will fit any Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers (JL and JK) and will give your Jeep a great tough look.

They said the clunk sound is normal and should not be an issue. After I told them the story of my truck not performing well on hills, the technician drove the car down a hill (15 degrees) and tried to back up and white smoke came off the transmission while revving up less than 3000 RPM and...
Recently, I have been hearing a clunk sound when I change the gears as soon as the clutch is engaged. It happens between every two gears whether it is 1 to 2 or 3 to 4, 3 to 2, etc. Going to a different dealership tomorrow morning. Here we go! 2nd visit in two months! cheers to the manual...
Again if you read my post carefully, I have a 2022 manual transmission Sport S. None of the manuals come with the max tow package. The point you are missing is that you think max tow is the one that has the max payload. That is not correct. See this table that is from the 2022 Jeep gladiator...
@jjs3845 @ShadowsPapa @usnavycdr
@Sal's Dad --- you have a valid point. I hear your frustration.
This was also a question of mine, I have a 2022 Sport S with M/T and my door sticker says my payload is 1046 lbs (I thought it should be closer to 1700 lbs!!!), my truck is fully loaded with...
The difference comes from the fact that Rubicon has 33" tires and the max tow is on 31". Max tow would inevitably be better in towing given that gear ratios and engines are identical. Rubicon 33" tires (~65 lbs) weigh twice more than 31s (~32 lbs). Also, a larger radius tire will effectively...
The definition in that link is not right. Running ground clearance, as used by Jeep, is the lowest point of sprung components. That is, components that are "on" the suspension and supported by it and this excludes axles.
So much confusion and incorrect interpretations of how much taller is Rubicon/Mohave compared to sport and if swapping suspension components gives any additional lift/ground clearance and what is every model ground clearance, etc.
Jeep claims that non-Rubicon models' ground clearance is 10"...
UPDATE:
I picked up my truck last week after 20 days. It is safe to say it has been fixed and is a lot better. No more intense smell. I am able to climb up and back up my steep driveway riding the clutch and gas less than 2300 RPM (no hill-assist and it's noted that I am quite skillful with...
UPDATE:
I just spoke with the service department manager. He said this clutch has been overheated and needs to be completely replaced (very politely blaming it on me for overheating). Also, saying that the warranty is 12k miles for a clutch, and they will cover it this time. Feel beyond lucky...
Thanks for your feedback. Well, this is unacceptable, you should be able to climb either way. From your profile picture, I can't say for sure if your driveway is steep enough or not. Here is a picture of my driveway that is between 15 to 18 degrees. So, if you fight stalling with more throttle...
Thanks for your message. Of course, it does smell in the first gear if you pish it hard or alternatively stalls if not fighting it hard with more throttle input, but the technician was only testing the 2nd gear climb believing it should be able to climb even in the 2nd gear and riding the...
Hey 2022 M/T owners!
Upon delivery of my Gladiator, I stalled the truck the very first time. Driving manuals for almost a decade gave me the impression something is not quite right. Made it home, and in 2H, and once I wanted to climb my driveway (which is about 15 degrees slope), stalled again...
