While wheeling this weekend I noticed some sidewall tears that have me worried. I figured Iād revive this thread (hope thatās okay OP?) to avoid making a new one with similar question. I was wheeling a lot over the last two weeks, and the trails were very rocky, hence the Rocky Mountains, but I...
I am indeed, and I havenāt come across anything that would make me want to change. Iām positive itāll handle 37ās if I wanted, and many on hear attest to that.
Thanks! Iāve really come to like the stance with the pizza cutters. We love this set up and Iām convinced itāll get us anywhere! Out crawled some Tacomas with dual lockers on one adventure that was particularly satisfying.
Itās not just a loooonnnnggg bed. Itās a naaaaarrrroooooowww bed. All that extra wheel well leaves maybe 8-10 inches of full width in that long bed! Haha! Great minds creating great things š
I like the idea of that, are there any cons to it? Like increased DEF usage or something? This is my first diesel car so most of my knowledge comes from this forum!
And is there a recommended kit for the JT like there are for other trucks? I canāt imagine there is as much interest from the 3.0...
thanks to both of you for the input. I think deep down I knew the answer, it was just the little ball of hope inside that it wasnāt true. I am starting to lean towards saying screw the power train warranty. I know conventional wisdom says thatās a terrible idea. But my fomo and disdain for these...
@staying_tuned and @Snow Army
do either of you happen to know if this would affect the powertrain warranty, or just the basic. With the basic up at 36k, which is right around the corner for me, Iām itching to get started. The only thing Iām STILL waiting for is the HPFP recall work.
If it...
I had that code pop up at just after 20k miles. Did the fuel filter and air filters and it didnāt go away. I have yet to have the fuel pump replaced and Iām now over 32k miles. My dealer said they get a few every other week or so.
My father in law has been a diesel owner (7.3 power stroke) for...
The suspension makes a big difference. I got the AEV RT for my diesel, but it gave me more lift than I thought I was signing up for. We are happy with it now, and the ride is a big improvement. I tried rubicon take offs before the AEV and thought they were worse than the sport s oem.
The other...
You could get the Mojave⦠Orrrr grab a Rubicon Diesel. Iāve been seeing insane discounts nationwide. The prices are mid 50k which is great, but honestly what the JTRDās were closer to a few years ago. Few with a diesel regret it and by the time you want a new one itāll be a collectors item.
Have you tried any fuel additives? Looking at your last thread it could help clean out the system. Itās a cheap try at the least.
I had a P026C come on this winter, exact opposite of the of the P026D, but from my internet sleuthing it appears the two codes have some similar causes. Using an...
Alright this is a few months old but I have a good excuse. The photo for proof was being held hostage by my brother in law. Iāve finally procured it!
In October ā23 while on a hunting trip we hit a steep hill with snow covered rocks. I had to use my winch to get past a 30 foot section, and...
Thumbs up on the diesel.
We love our JT diesel! Get one! My wife drives it more than me so when I saw the discounts youāre talking about I started trying to convince her to get another. Get the diesel! It puts the gassers to shame on the trails and the highway.
I once towed a trd pro tundra up...
I am thinking of taking my family to it. We would drive our JT down and wheel it. Iāve wanted to go for a while now and honestly Iām a bit intimidated by the unknown of it all. I have a buddy with a JLR that Iām trying to get to go as well. The only time Iāve wheeled in Moab was when I had an...
I think you are right. Iām definitely going to get smaller spacers. The helm joints donāt even rotate far enough to need that large of spacers. I donāt care what evo says about it being okay for two reasons:
1. They wonāt replace the factory mount if it snaps.
2. that much bolt sticking away...
I hope whoever bought this one gets on this forum to show us what that thing can do. The 392 is badass, and the truck bed instead of a passenger cab sheds a bunch of weight no doubt.
Althoughā¦itās technically a JL. Which forum do they subscribe to!? Identity crisis! Ahhhh!
im new to evo so thanks for the insight. I definitely like the idea of those metal cloak brackets.
As for the spacers, each set came on the link that it was supposed to be used on. And the front and rear sets were each sent in two separate packages so I have no reason to think they could have...
thanks Iāll look into those
EVO responded right away so thatās awesome. They said it looked like I had it installed correctly and they havenāt had any issues with that amount of thread in contact. Seems sketch to me even though I know I should trust EVO.
Even though itās a daily driver I wheel...
