I had the same issue on mine after one winter in upper state NY. I knocked down the rough spots with a wire wheel, and used a rattle (Fusion Matte) can to get the most egregious spots back to black. If I was keeping it I might want to use the Fluid Film or the NH Undercoating.
Just to wrap this up (sorry to those who are bored), the Jeep Gladiator is running like a top, all issues I had with it are either fixed (second starter worked like a charm) or figured out (turn the heat up really high and you don't need to worry about it dumping cold air). So I am very happy...
No, I have a 1997 TJ in the garage. I will keep that and have no plans on letting go of it; something breaks and I head to JeepForum and find the fix.
This will be the last electronics-laden car I would buy. I just don't have the toolset to figure out what is going wrong. USB not working, no...
... I forgot to mention that the heater started dumping cold air into the cab at 12 F. Found out later it is a known issue. How the ?F?
To answer your questions, I have been looking at body on frame trucks. The phone worked but the charging stopped working. So we had a couple of dead phones and...
I am still here, was all set to keep the JT, set off on a trip of about 300 miles each way.
The USB stopped working in Bar Harbor, ME (cold (12F) and alone, with no navigation/hotel.com... yes I do have a Maine Gazetteer) and then the curly, yellow, fiberglass pig tail (that makes up the sound...
Actually since you all pissed me off so much I am going to keep the POS. Just to spite all you guys; although I do see a lot pain behind those trolling lines, maybe we can reach some, nah F-IT.
Good luck with your rigs.
Good
Good luck with it, sounds like you are good so far.
I have to admit, we are having some serious conversations this weekend. Supposed to pick up the 4R next week... Lots of great feedback, most of it good... but I appreciate there are glaring differences, that may show a more difficult...
My ace in the hole is my 1997 TJ, hard and soft top. So if I can get used to the Toy's lack of performance and overall elderliness of the vehicle's design I should be good. Fingers crossed.
I agreed with you completely. I am trying to go back to a safer version of a truck, grabbing something solid for a few years, hopefully let ting the service people/equipment catch up with the electronics designers. I believe the 5G to be that safe spot for now.
Not much out there that is...
Thanks very much for that offer I will keep it in mind, and thanks for the tip.
I am going with the ORP, figuring the additional badge of the Pro is not worth the thousands they want. It is 23 with less than 15k miles.
Nobody likes to have to quit. Everything gets old, especially breaking down. The other choice was a newer JT or JL. I couldn't get there.
Good luck with yours.
It is time to call it quits on the Jeep Gladiator experience. It has cost me time and money and worry. But 4th breakdown in one year, for the same (sorta) issue is too much. It was bad enough breaking down in the middle of route 1, St. Augustine, FL in traffic, but when it did the exact same...
My 2020 spent a winter in upper state NY and it shows, the welds in particular. It then spent 3 years in Florida.
I used the needle scaler, painted with OSPHO and then the Fusion Matte Black. I am back up in Vermont for the winter and expect I will have to the same again. This time I will...
