Also, my backing plate was powder coated black. Have to assume there was a hole drilled in the plate for the bumper… which is fixed in place and not moveable.
I installed the table myself and did not need to mount the table portion to the backing plate… it came out of the box already riveted. Doesn’t seem right to me.
I get a little bit of moisture in mine also. I believe it is coming in through the back where the cube and cover attach to the mounting bracket. The moisture is limited to the rear of the cover when I unzip it. This doesn't happen at all with the awning. It hasn't been bad and I live in a...
I'll be interested in following the sun flare install and inside wiring. I've got lazy aspirations of adding a roof mounted panel of some sort (use a ground array now). As such I haven't even done the work to find the solar specific wiring inside the chase.
Looks great, very organized and functional. Want to emphasize containing the bottle jack in something. I've had one leak and it was a huge mess. Not sure what the cause... I was suspecting elevation changes.
I did an assortment of safejack accessories with my own bottle jack and ammo can. You can easily cut foam to line the can to keep things quiet. I built my own because I wanted the jack to be a part of a more complete tire repair kit, so wanted room for tire plugs, replacement valves, glue tread...
Nice rig! Curious about your thoughts on the awning room. Wondering about ease of setup/teardown, how stable is it when deployed and where do you store it when not in use? It looks like a cool option, but I’ve heard it’s a big thing to haul around.
Appreciate you walking me through your thought process. The sunflare panels are the only one I had considered in this form factor, but the price premium has kept me on the sidelines, so far.
Currently I deploy a 180W folding array (I like to park in the shade) and augment with alternator...
Are these type meaningfully improved from other flexible panels? The promise of a lightweight, flexible panel that can be direct bonded are obvious, but I'm suspicious of having premature failures and excessive derating due to the direct mount on a dark, metallic surface.
I would really appreciate that info. I did find a post elsewhere confirming the crossbars are 1020 series t-slot, but the link to roll-in nuts on McMaster appears to be old and the part is no longer sold. They do have 4 packs of other nuts but not stainless. If they can be sourced from 80/20...
A question for those running the Trailrax modular roof rack... what are you doing for accessory fasteners along the extrusion? I'm about 1/2 through assembly and it occurs to me that getting t-nuts or hex bolts into the extrusion is only possible by taking one of the sides off. Are there any...

They are mounted via 813 fabrications molle panels. Available in versions compatible with the water tank and without...
Nothing I can provide a link for, it came out of the plumbing aisle at Ace Hardware. Main things I chose were no lead and a small but not too small lever. Here is a close up, in case it helps:
