Trying to find the black connector that is used by Goosegear in their cabinets for the drawers, its on the ends of the horozional bar under the top drawer. Its used to attach the bar to the vertical. I didn't see them on 80/20 site. Any ideas?

It might be something like this… but I don’t know what series of extrusions Goose Gear uses. This website is where I buy most of my stuff.

I had wondered the same thing when building my own version. GG supposedly uses their own proprietary design so maybe that is the answer. It is probably an isolator I imagine. I used TNUTZ.

Its not the large 1"x1" T nuts piece the one I need is on the horozonal bar under the drawer and is about 1/4" thick.

Does the opposite site have a hole to reach a bolt? If yes, it might just be a custom bumper to deal with non-precise cuts (lengths) of the crossbars.

Connections like this:

Have to be ultra-precise to work properly. If there are slight discrepancies in length for various batches, the easiest way to deal with over various production runs would be to have various thickness "washers" to accommodate for that.

Have you taken this thing apart? What does the actual piece look like?

It could also be a 3D printed version of something like this:

If you replace the alignment helper with a plastic part, it could be something like it. I haven't seen a part that resembles what GG uses, but their production is large enough that it's feasable to design a few custom pieces to save money and/or solve some problems they've faced in production.

Another idea is, if the crossbar is attached via a 90 degree bracket to prevent the crossbar from rotating. I'd need to see more details to be of more help.

This.

Goose Gear originally used all off the shelf pieces but shifted to some custom pieces, especially connectors, that work better and speed up their building process. They don't offer their custom pieces for sale.

Just picked up our Alu-CAb build a couple weeks ago. Love this thread! Lots of useful information. Question for the group on the Dickinson fireplace chimney. For those of you that have it painted the chimney black. Did you use a flat black high heat fireplace paint spray or did you powder coat the chimney? Thanks

The few I have seen black were painted with high-heat paint. The outside tube does not get very hot from my understanding. I have assembled one but never tested it for heat. The exhaust is the internal pipe. If you are installing it yourself and not in a hurry, powder coating it may look better in the long-run, especially if you off-road much with tree limbs.

I had mine done professionally with cerakote (they make a version for high heat engine parts). Didn't have confidence that I would get reasonable adhesion to the stainless steel if I DIY'd it. I'm very happy with how mine turned out and it can take a beating with no consequences.

I coworker of my sons does Powder Coating so I may take him up on offer to do it for me. I will also look into cerakote treatment. Yes, I will be installing myself so no rush. I would not even be on this thread if it was not for that fireplace. Long story short my wife was totally against spending this kind of money for the ALU CAB set up. One day when I was watching more YOUTUBE videos with ALU CAB Canopy Camper setups and they were showing how the Dickinson Fireplace worked well and provided ambience to the interior. Well...She put down her book and said, "A fireplace inside the camper? Wow!" She was hooked and then gave me the go ahead on purchasing my canopy Camper :)
