I have a post on doing my first transmission drain and fill from back in November 2023 with 57,000 miles on the dash posted here: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/first-transmission-drain-and-fill.74234/ I am an Accountant with a very basic knowledge of vehicles. Thank...

SERVICE UPDATE Current Mileage: 68,500 No issues Transmission runs exceptionally well Shifts are smooth between all gears I plan to do another transmission drain and fill at 80,000 miles which I expect to happen around November 2025. That will be 2 years from when I performed my first drain...

  6. Kanati Trail Hog 37 12.5 17 update

  7. BLACK Gladiator JT Club

Love the look! Can you share what size tires/wheels those are?
  8. First Transmission Drain and Fill

I'm definitely in the preventative maintenance camp. I've been following Brad Kowitz from Trailrecon on YT who has a somewhat close relationship with Jeep. Recently he had Jerry from Shift Autowerx, who has been a Certified Jeep Technician for over 10 years on his channel. Brad and Jerry...
  9. First Transmission Drain and Fill

Everything in life has a risk. To me, this is a low risk process that the engineers themselves specifically say should be done between 50K - 75K miles And if it breaks after 60K miles, who is going to fix it? Not Jeep. It's out of warranty. I'll take the risk and do what the engineers...
  10. First Transmission Drain and Fill

Jeep says lifetime fluid. What's lifetime? Jeep does not specify if lifetime means until I die (my lifetime) or lifetime of the powertrain warranty (5yrs / 60K miles) However, you know who does say when the transmission should be serviced? The engineers/makers of the actual transmission, ZF...
  11. First Transmission Drain and Fill

And this is why I'm not an engineer  Thank you for the clarification @Madtom
  12. First Transmission Drain and Fill

So, my Jeep currently has 57K miles and I figured now is a good time to drain the transmission fluid. I've never performed a transmission drain/fill and heard horror stories about transmissions being destroyed. Friends were telling me that it's a lifetime fluid and doesn't need to be flushed or...
  13. Overland 18” wheels and 33”, 35”, 37” tires?

Nice! What size tires are those? 37x12.5? Thinking of going the same route.
  14. Removing Brake Fluid Filter

Full disclosure, I'm not a mechanic, I'm a bean counter and as such, if I can reduce my ownership costs by using some of my spare time to do so, I don't mind rolling my sleeves up. I find it therapeutic as well. That being said, I read up on tutorials and take bits and pieces here and there...
  15. Removing Brake Fluid Filter

I used a very small flat head screwdriver to wedge between the filter and the reservoir wall. Then I used needle nose pliers to pull it up. Took me a few tries but I was able to pull it out using that method.
  16. ARB Locker Surface Rust Concern

Thanks everyone! Looks like I’ll be passing. Sounds like too much risk and damage.
  17. ARB Locker Surface Rust Concern

Hi, I came across an ARB Locker for sale but I have some reservations due to the condition of the locker. The seller is asking $700 OBO, however, the locker has some surface rust. Is the surface rust an issue if the rust can be cleaned up and removed? What are your thoughts?
  18. A bed rack to work with bed tonneau cover

Thank you for this! I have to say, this looks like a creative and cost-effective alternative to billie bars.
  19. A bed rack to work with bed tonneau cover

That looks slick. What hardware did you use to mount the Yakima bars?
  20. Front and Rear Diff Fluid

By all accounts, I believe I should be fine. 2020 Overland with Trac-Lok LSD option I service mine at 50K miles. Drained and filled with Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90 High Performance Synthetic Automotive Gear Oil. Royal Purple states that their Max Gear is formulated with a friction modifier...
