Congratulations!
Maybe now you can focus on making a tailight for the JT that doesn't fail right after the warranty is up and possibly use hardware that doesn't corrode so quickly.
I have been dealing with a strip out on my Oracle LH rear. They are over 2 years old so I am SOL for help from them on purchasing a replacement at a discounted rate.
I like the profile of the lights but LEDs should be an upgrade as far as reliability but these are definitely not.
I may go with...
On an extended 4 low steep climb loaded with camping gear a stock rubicon Jt will get very hot. Trans and the engine.
I imagine not many here would know this but its a fact.
My rig sheds heat now at a much better rate than it did in stock form. The trans pan was one piece of the mods I did to...
I have had them a couple years and love them. I get back in the sticks camping on trail, with bed loaded up i don't have to worry about storing the panels. I don't usually drive at 60+ with them folded back but I have.
The only down side is some of the places I go have trees overhanding the...
I made one with a few features i like. The rear is hinged at top and pops off with tailgate open. When off it jas fold oit legs that double as a table. The side bars allow for lashing junk on the inside and locking with cable lock of needed. I made it to be only slightly higher that the roof...
I put one on and the engine pan also. Added a little over a qt of fluid to capacity. With the 2 in place and a vent trim on the rubicon hood i do notice the jeep runs cooler on long 4W low range climbs.
I did wrap the exhaust adjacent to the pan. Its easy to drain with nice magnet plug and i...
I run a 35 inch tire and trail ride at a slow pace. I rotate my tires every 10k miles and every single time I rotate tires I check the torque on my aluminum knuckles and they have loosened at tie rod and drag link. If they get loose and start to wallow out they will become junk in no time.
I drove my gladiator out of a similar but maybe half the speed.
I was slowing down at a construction site, 2 lanes merged to one. I was doing 50 ish and an idiot hit me from behind going maybe 70-80?
Their mid size car crushed side of my rear bumper and bed.
The car penitrated into the back...
Would be interesting to know what the surface hardness of the failed set is.
Any machine shops near you that could test?
Its really easy with right equipment
I guess i will run what i have until i can find a broken housing to play with.
I have a jacked up spine, fusions ect. so when i say i wheel slow and conservative i really mean it.
Unsprung weight on an axle really does affect ride quality, which is one of the main reasons i am considering this.
I want a slight axle upgrade, thicker wall longside tube, 2.75x .375 or 5 wall DOM.
The fad system would be removed and i would add "C" gussets regear maybe add RCV's and steel knuckles.
I have called East Coast gear and they wouldn't retube, they wanted to sell me a new front axle.
The thing...
I have 35 10.50 falken AT on stock rubi wheels. I had some beadlocks on a 35 MT but the heavy wheel package just sucked what little power the 3.6 and 4.10s had, for me at least
I have to travel to good wheeling spots so I appreciate to road characteristics
