Even though my Gladiator has problems, I wouldn't trade it for another vehicle. I have deleted the exhaust gas recirculator and rerouted the cooling lines. Got rid of the melting plastic smell. Gladiator has a little more power since I did that.
I have found a problem with the fuel system that can cause a fire. Plastic fuel rail leaks a small amount of fuel. I already replaced mine. Before a fire could start. I even found problems with the fuel line and pump. I replaced the fuel rail with an all metal fuel rail and braided stainless...
All from my middle knuckle. I cauterized the cut. Small cut to bleed out like that. Can't feel that part of my hand so I didn't know I was bleeding.
Yes, I was using assembly lube but, not that much.
Just got done after 5 days of work that a dodge mechanic screwed up. Replaced both intake and exhaust cams, cam exhaust phaser, reset timmimg, along with oil change. Both of the cams had pitting all through out the lobes. The exhaust cam phaser key was broken. The bolt for the exhaust cam phaser...
What I'm designing is a pump to replace the internal pump altogether. This is just for experimental purposes. Just something I want to try out.
The purpose is to prime the motor and keep the oil pressure up.
I have already deleted the auxiliary battery and stepped up to an h7 battery. Plus I have a flexible solar panel on the roof with a charge controller set to trickle charge.
I already know about the Baxter Performance. I'm in the works of designing something similar but more technically advanced.
Sorry, I work a lot.
My issue is I'm not a daily driver so most of the time it sits. I drive 2 miles to work and it sits for 8-9 hours. I was thinking if oil was pumped through the motor before start up, then no more dry starts.
Me and my father are thinking the pentastar needs an external oil pump to keep oil pressure constant.
We're thinking the cams, rockers and lifters aren't getting enough oil.
We are thinking that when the rpm's drop the cams, rockers and lifters lose oil volume. They get too hot and friction...
Now that I have sun light outside I have an even bigger problem. Intake cam in the back heavily gouged about 3/16 of an inch. From that deep of a gouge I don't think they replaced the intake cam at all. I have the paperwork but I don't know how to prove if they did the work or not.
Dodge had already replaced the intake cam back in March 15,2023. I had asked them if the rockers and lifters were good. They said they were in good working order.
I remember when I got home from the dealer I popped the hood open and I found the oil cap and radiator tank cap off. The dealer is...
My engine started to sound like a jack-hammer.
Intake rockers were good, intake lifters bad.
Exhaust rockers were good i did replace some of them for a little bit of wear, exhaust lifters were bad. Replaced all lifters. Some of them were so bad i could not push them down by hand.
I'm at 51,869 miles.
Upon removal of a pan head bolt it snapped off in the head. It's not a clean break. I'm trying to drill it out to use a bolt remover. If I can't get it out I'm going to drill and tap new threads.
If I have anymore problems with this motor I'm going to install a new v8 and transmission.
I'm at 50,789 miles and mine sounds alot worse than that. Already ordered the parts. I just didn't order them from Mopar. All parts are coming from Melling & made in the USA.
