Thanks all for the info. One of the main reasons I use cruise control in the first place is that I have problems with my feet, especially my right foot (broke it in 3 places and never healed up just right). My wife has adaptive cruise control on her Subaru and it works flawlessly, but I just...
Ok, I found this on the Wrangler Forum (not sure if I can get this feature on a Gladiator):
Adaptive Cruise Control w/ Manual Transmission... So Good! | Jeep Wrangler Forums (JL / JLU) -- Rubicon, 4xe, 392, Sahara, Sport - JLwranglerforums.com
I see where Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is supposed to be available for Jeeps with a manual transmission. Does anyone have any experience with this feature? Thanks, Jim.
Here's what I ended up getting. It looks simple to install. Only 3 wires to hook up (key-on power, always-on power, & ground), and just plug in the camera into the lighter style receptical.
I'm already using my OBD port for my GPS device & JScan. Besides, I already have my wires routed to under the hood. I like the idea of keeping everything locked under the hood. If your hood isn't locked, they could just disconnect the battery or pull fuses and disable everything. I also...
I tried to order this, but I think there is something wrong with their website (it wouldn't let me past checkout to pay for it). Anyway, I also found this on eBay, which sounds like it works about the same:
Low Battery cut off Prevent Failure 12V Discharge For Dash Cam Hardwire Kit | eBay
I added a fused lighter style receptacle under the hood and a pair of hood locks. All the aftermarket headlight timers I've found only keep the circuit turned on a few minutes. I would prefer it to stay on for a few hours. Thanks.
When I got it, I was mostly concerned about driving daily to work into downtown DC, and sometimes having to park on the street. I worked 2nd shift, so that lit up screen at night was pretty obvious (hopefully as a deterrent). I also have a GPS security device, that is supposed to call me up on...
Soon after buying our jeep last year, I added this mirror replacement camera (see photo). I wired it in so that it always has power turned on, to hopefully deter & record anyone messing around the vehicle (thus, it's always recording both front & rear cameras). My problem started after...
Your JT looks a lot like mine. Did you get it from that place in Bowie? I remember that they had several of that same color when I got mine. Where did you get that matching yellow dashboard cover?
The way I see it, the only true way to measure your cooling efficiency would be to measure the coolant flow rate going in/out of your radiator, because the engine cooling system thermostat is going to automatically adjust this flow rate to maintain its set temperature to within maybe a couple of...
My 2023 $39k Sport was about as basic as you can get, but still came with full/strong AC, 3 piece hard top convertible top, 3.6L V6 24V VVT, high/low range 4WD, Android based sound system with apps for my Pandora & Google GPS built in, rear backup camera, a computer compatible for the Jscan app...
Does anyone make a bug deflector and window visor/rain guard matching set? It's hard to believe that there are so many different products out there. What I really need is a deflector that will work on small rocks. Our vehicle is only about 5 months old and it already has 2 small cracks...
KX brings up a good point. I wonder just how much does it cost in environmental terms to produce an EV, as compared to a similar an internal combustion vehicle? I have heard that lithium is mainly stripped mined from ancient sea beds, and processed using a whole lot of fresh water that becomes...
