Camera runs battery down

I'm already using my OBD port for my GPS device & JScan. Besides, I already have my wires routed to under the hood. I like the idea of keeping everything locked under the hood. If your hood isn't locked, they could just disconnect the battery or pull fuses and disable everything. I also bought another GPS device that I plan to put under the hood (one that doesn't require a monthly fee).

I went with the obd2 port type. No wiring of any kind. It took just a few minutes to tuck the wire away. Either of the items you and Sharpsickle list will work fine, jus a bit more work.

Personally, I like to keep the OBD2 port free. There are so many other places to get power, I'd rather not occupy a diagnostic port just for that. I will admit it's convenient though.

BTW it's "sharpsicle", like a sharp icicle, not like hammer and sickle. I am no comrade.

Here's what I ended up getting. It looks simple to install. Only 3 wires to hook up (key-on power, always-on power, & ground), and just plug in the camera into the lighter style receptical.
