Thanks for all of the input everyone. After weighing out the options of having to get a class IV, drop hitch, and renting the trailer we have decided to just go with a carrier service.
I've pulled plenty of trailers in my time from 2K to over 10K, so I wasn't worried about the comfortability...
Wanted to get some opinions of whether it is worth towing my TJ with my JT on a 600 mile trip or if it would be best to just pay a shipping service. I'm a bit on the fence due to payload and towing capacity. We won't be towing regularly so I don't want to invest in a ton of equipment.
The drive...
We have a stock TJ bought brand new in 2005 that sits at 130K with a blown trans and death wobble situation which we will be fixing soon.. We went away from Jeep for a while and got a Nissan Titan and Subaru Crosstrek which both worked flawlessly with very minor issues until we sold them at 190K...
Just to update everyone on this:
Dealer (Crystal CDJR) claims the damage was rodent damage and a bad auxiliary battery.
What a nightmare this dealership has been, they told me to come and they would shuttle to a rental car which they told me I could walk when I arrived. They took the truck...
I 100% agree with you, I am done with Jeep/FCA after our Gladiator.
Went to Joshua Tree CDJR to sum it up, went in January last year for a transmission issue and they pretty much had our truck until June, briefly returning the truck in between with a dead aux battery which left us stranded in...
Thanks for the feedback, that is what we are thinking too. I actually just got the battery up to 90% with the trickle charger and still have the same condition. Thankfully it’s got the extended warranty.
Hey guys,
I am trying to figure out a no start condition. I just got my truck back 6 months ago where they replaced both batteries and Z-fuse. It was working great until last night I noticed the remote start did not work but it fired right up when I pushed the button inside the truck.
Tonight...
You are correct, I completely forgot that.. I did add a MaxTrac front track bar to fix center the front wheels as well.
Sounds like you are on the right track to getting it done right.
We have 22K miles on the lift so far, we also went with the Fox setup (if not mentioned).
A few things after tons of road trips and easy trails. The highway ride is phenomenal, especially after adding the MaxTrac geometry kit. I highly recommend getting a geo kit. The ride is very squishy...
My Overland stock was getting around 18 city and 21-22 highway but we did get it to 24 MPG on the highway once..
It has since been lifted 2.5" and on 35's and now we get around 14.5 city and around 17.5 highway.. varies a bit for us since we live partially on a steep grade highway and in a...
The problem wasn’t just that it was jumping up a few hundred RPM when shifting but the fact that every few times it did it you could feel the transmission knockinto gear.
we did get the truck back today and everything transmission wise has been resolved as far as we can tell but we’ve only...
Well to fill everyone in, Joshua Tree CDJR has now had my truck since 3/1 (minus 1 week that we got it back)
They replaced the transfer case on 4/26 and told me the truck is within spec and ready to be picked up after replacing the transfer case, I asked if it is still making the noise, he...
Update:
Steering - they state TSB for the steel box is complete and it fixed the steering wandering
3-4th slip - they state they cant find it
P-R noise - they state its the transfer case and it should be delivered tomorrow and completed Friday
They ended up updating the software at no charge after speaking to Stellantis.
However, they now have confirmed they found the park to reverse noise but still cannot figure out where the noise is coming from. They originally removed the new driveshaft and found nothing out of spec. Yesterday...
I agree.
Received another call yesterday, the dealer states the regional tech/engineer is stating that the slippage from 3-4 and park-to-reverse noise are caused by me running 35's and the "programming" as well.
Though Regina at Stellantis has said they will reprogram it for me and I would...
