No problem. They're still pretty purpose built, which is why I even entertained the idea of a Glad. It'll serve you well so long as you keep in mind it's an offroady truck: okay on the highway, but will always get you back home.
It does do better than my TJ does on gas though. Not much, but a...
Also keep in mind, it IS a Jeep... it's built to do 15 mph, regardless of terrain. The cost of that is bad fuel economy at highway+ speeds.
Basically: You don't take a dirt bike to a motogp event and expect to do well. Heheh.
There's part of your problem: your speed. Highway rating is done at 65. Level grade on a lovely day. The window sticker is a very generalized mpg under ideal conditions.
Also, they may have rounded them off a little, but Jeeps still have the aerodynamics of a brick.
I agree with the Gladiator being more comfortable. I'm 6-2 and have a TJ which has a surprising amount of leg room. I wound up with a 23 Taco and even though the thing was massive, I couldn't fully stretch my legs. Seats were leather but just okay in the comfort department.
The Glady I ordered...
I'm not sure. But given the recent track record; the clutch thing, steering wheels falling off, missing deadlines, workers strike... they have a lot of apologizing and some serious ass-kissing to do. I think that's why they're showering the deals. Mine had about 7 grand hacked off the sticker...
You might get lucky. My dealership honored the 20% off even though it expired as they knew I was waiting for a year for it. Stellantis needed to go and do some serious on their knees action. So I'd bring that up when it shows up.
That is correct. I like the seats better in this. As well as the better visibility. And ironically enough, it is much quicker and not as heavy feeling.
Yes, I got a pretty bare bones one ordered. Being a Chysler, I trier to get less electric powered stuff in it to inevitably fail. But I did tack on things like the offroad group, cold air intake, bedliner and the like.
I appreciate the information. I spent an hour or so last night looking at...
I ordered it so long ago, i dont actually remember. Fairly certain its a Sport. Not sure if i got a Sport S. But i couldnt get crank windows above that package. VIN last 6 are 549639. As far as when it shipped, that's still listed as TBD. But from what I understand, it was finished being built...
Sitrep: so the one I ordered on the 27th of January just showed up at the dealership today.
The tale: Curiosity got the better of me so I drove on down to at least look at it. And sure enough... there it was. The only red vehicle in the whole lot. Amusingly enough, the dealership was wildly...
Yeah, I don't know what is going on... I suspect Stellantis is trying to kill Jeep. But that's just a theory. Glad I didn't go through with selling my TJ. Would be so weird NOT having a Jeep. Plus what would I do with all my ducks? Lol.
Mostly curiosity if anyone is getting their '23 6 speeds or not. The one I ordered is still on the roster to be built. From January. Which is curious given I canceled that order.
But really, I am mostly just curious about if anyone who's ordered one has gotten delivery yet.
And agreed. The TJ...
You might want to take this as a sign. I did. With Stellantis already saying they're trying to turn Jeep into a friggin Land Rover... yeah... it's not a Jeep any more. And with the seemingly never ending recalls, and you not even able to buy one on the lot? That's the universe telling you to...
Good lord, you're STILL waiting? I figured you'd have ducked out by now.
I ordered a Taco, got it 6 weeks later. With a manual. And damn is it a fine truck. And it exists. I don't know why you're still waiting. Apparently there's another recall on the JTs going on.
Still looking like they haven't figured it out yet. And I'm under the impression it's going to be a long while yet. Which is interesting given they're using Aisin transmissions. Same brand they pop into Toyotas and those aren't having exploding clutch issues.
I'm out already. I already got a Tacoma and pulled my deposit. No sooner had I done so, then Jeep is having yet another recall for steering wheels falling off. Yeah... too many brand recalls, I no longer trust them. I'm taking all of this as a sign from the universe. I gave them well over the...
