If what you bought doesn't work also check out dirtydog4x4. Been using their seat hammock in the Gladiator and previously their cargo area cover in a JK.

Although there are set ups that work I prefer my dogs in the cab. I bought the dirtydog4x4 pet divider net and hammock combination. Once I move and have some extra storage space I will pull the back seats and put bed/mat material on a platform back there. And kudos for rescuing a GSD. I have 2...

I’ve found the best way to improve the trip is to fly my family to the destination and drive by myself with my dog. I’m sure not an option but always worked for me-
