Well, they aren't for sale yet, so you are jumping the gun a bit. I agree that the overlanding community on this forum is the minority, but I was referring to us with my comment about buying the bedless option. I am already figuring out whether I want to go through another build.

I think the majority of people here would buy it without the bed. A rolling chassis, delivered to a company like Bowen Custom, to get one of their overlanding trays, plus an OVRLND Campers would be the bee's knees imo.

We haven't cracked 100 degrees yet. Normally we'll have 6 or 7 days over 100. So far none.

Yeah, we go out into the middle of Nevada, and mileage plummets when you are picking your way across the valleys and hills. Having the extra tank allows me to stay away from "civilization" for as long as I have water. This is where we spend a lot of our time.

Installing the Long Range America auxiliary fuel tank. It's nice being able to go 600 miles on a single fuel up.

Yeah, when we are offroad I pay a lot more attention to the road, not the gauge cluster, and the upper mount is perfect for a quick glance to make sure everything is ok.

I have had no issues with the upper mount.

Yeah, I hit a crow once upon a time in my 1969 Plymouth. I was topping 90mph on the freeway and BAM, an explosion of feathers, and grossness all over the windshield. It didn't Crack. It hit up near the chrome surround, and that did get dented.

Nope, I had a rock hit me that came from a truck on the opposite side of the highway. It's only one lane each way, so no way to avoid the debris they kick up.

My two cracked windshields were during highway driving.

This was last year on my way home from Phoenix.

If you're going to go that far then a build like Dan Grec's is the way to go.
