We used them when I was based at Camp David, Md from 1982-1984. We had CJ-5's and some of the blizzards (1983 especially) we had they were a must in the mountain terrain. I haven't see any since but then I refuse to live where you might need them.
I lived in Milford De in the mid 70's to mid 80's and it was a rare sight to see snow. A few inched crippled us for days but as a kid going to school it was a good thing.
Mine is a weekend vehicle until I retire so in an average year I rarely drive 3-5k miles. I change it once a year regardless of miles. My original owner 1993 Silverado gets a change every 2K and all three of my Harley's get one between 2-3K as well.

I haul at least four cords of un split rounds a year in my original owner 1993 Silverado. I had a drop in bed liner put in the day I bought it 31 years ago and don't regret it. If I planned on hauling rounds in my Mojave I wouldn't even consider it without a spray in or drop in bed liner. Wood...
Stolen valor comes to mind. If people will go to the level of impersonating a decorated combat veteran, produce fraudulent documents to the VA, etc scamming Jeep out of a trail badge is minor in comparison.
