It seems unlikely a diesel would return to the platform. High risk for Stellantis to go all in on the political change, all for it to potentially change again in 4 years (and potentially be unable to sell them in the many CARB states). Even if the regs were relaxed, the emissions control...
The posters that called it the “communist news network” or the “Clinton news network” don’t mean anything in particular you say?
I never said I liked CNN. I don’t care or watch it. But the same folks calling it stupid, politically charged names are likely the same ones focusing on Newsmax like...
There are not too many over 100k out there on here. There are far more posts on this forum (and the JL forum) about the EcoDiesel having DPF, CP4, SCR, turbo, or overheating issues. But the real kicker seems to be how expensive parts have become. Seems to be many posts of new engines costing...
I would not buy a gladiator manual, due to the amount of issues with it. What other clutch out there causes fires? Honestly, it would be better to just go to another brand if a manual is a requirement.
Thank you. I am really interested in that Jstor paper, too bad it has a paywall since it looks helpful. Conceptual I guess, but better than nothing. Tough call on what’s actually in the Platinum DEF and if it’s worth the extra cost.
Is there any evidence that these “premium” DEF products actually are any better for the SCR or DEF injectors? I’ve yet to see anything independent…and the SDS are exactly the same as any other ISO DEF product.
I agree with this. It seems like Stellantis has a bizarre business model of constantly raising prices on mostly unreliable vehicles, and to top it off, then offer up horrible customer service (see warranty discussions, or lemon law cases on here). FCA/Stellantis tried to take advantage of the...
I believe that Diesel #2 can be unmarked and have up to 5% biodiesel. I always just look for a station with Diesel #2 marked and ensure the pump doesnt have a sticker that says "Biodiesel up to 20%". Honestly Diesel #2 with 5% biodiesel is actually good for the fuel pump from what I can tell.
Dealers seem to frequently screw up the tax when I get a estimate too. If it's out of state, I'd rather just bring it in state and pay the tax at the DMV.
Be careful, looks like they may be charging you freight twice. It is always in the MSRP.
Yeah, I don't really see particularly the highly optioned out models going anywhere....I still am not sure who is out there buying a MSRP $70k gladiator
It really sucks because PHEV is a great platform in the right vehicle. Lot more power, and the mpg(e) is great. The lease (and then buyout ASAP) deals can make the Wrangler 4xe Rubicon less than $50k right now, but I am a bit worried about the longevity.
The days I want a 4xe, I read about the horror stories online. They are far worse reliability wise than the ecodiesel even. There are great 4xe lease deals right now, but you better only own it in warranty. I say that as a person who owns a PHEV from another brand, so not anti-electric.
Any chance you think Jeep goes to 20% on the rebate tomorrow? It seems like the good picks sold already, and just some really overpriced gladiators left on the lots.
I am looking at a diesel rubicon, but it is just too much for me still at $48k.
I agree with this. There are enough out there even if it has more options than you want, it will be cheaper. The depreciation is so great on gladiators I would only buy one with the 15% off rebate + large dealer discount.
