I also saw on another forum that the auto tensioner for timing chain uses oil. When it is cold not enough oil gets there till end. This would make sense also. I still think mine is tappets. And first time I heard it it really freaked me out a little.
It was the Ford/Chevy one... I just cut off the two connectors that go to horns and installed them to new horn. The single end connected to my 2021 Gladiator harness. I put 4 Hella in place of the 2 single ones. It is horrible loud from front. Accidently activated my alarm opening hood...
Isn't that the truth. Texas is huge. Some of the mud on the Angelina and Trinity River likes to grab and not release your truck. I hate going down trails after skidders in the spring.
It is tappet/lifter noise because oil is bleeding back to galleries is usually the cause. My 3.0 liter does it when it is below 30 degrees. My oil pressure is over 80 when it is this cold. If I put it in gear it gets worse. I have learned through the years on this vehicle (2021 Eco Diesel)...
