I went with the Nitto Ridge Grappler 35 X 11.5 X 17 E and the AEV 3" lift with Bilstein 8100s due to being quite heavily rigged for extreme overlanding. I followed 'Trail Recon's' set up and had Shift Auto out of Escondido, CA do the work. I also went with polished 4:88 gearing. Took a hit on...
Of course, lift systems would depend on intended use. Take my example to where I replaced the already fabulous Mohave suspension and had the identical system Brad of Adventure Recon had installed by Shift Auto & Off Road out of Escondido, CA. It's the AEV 3" lift with Bilstein 8100s. This...
I would agree that if one resides in Iowa, a re-gear may not be mandatory on 37's with 4:10's. There are instances that 35' X 11.5's on OEM wheels have very close weights in comparison to the factory 33" Falkens which can be installed. An example being Toyo 35 X 11.5's. I forgot that a $300+...
Good point however, correct me if I'm wrong. Wouldn't a re-gear also be necessary if going to 37's. If so, wouldn't such be equal to buying a set of 10 tires all at once?
Well, I just bit the bullet big time by duplicating the entire suspension upgrade that Brad from Trail Recon YT blog just had installed. Just spoke to Jerry at Shift Auto in Escondido, California yesterday and parts are on order.
I was struggling with what I should do because I didn't want to...
I just now installed the Rock Hard 4X4 aluminum bumper along with a Warn EVO 8S. The bumper weighs 37 lbs. and the skid plate is built in. Straight forward install with no drama accept having to add a couple extra washers to the (4) bolts which mount the winch to the recessed winch plate. I...
Oh, got it! I was thinking about researching the Timbrens and will most likely perform a search here down the road if I decide to haul some sort of trailer up to about 4-5K. I have Timbrens on my Ram 2500 CTD and haul a 35' Jayco toy hauler and they are stellar.
Bro, if you are currently hooked up to your RV, I'm very impressed with the seemingly no or very little rear squat. If not currently hooked up, did you perform any sort of suspension upgrade to pull such a unit with the cushy, stock Fox's?
I agree with Wild Peaks however, if I'm correct in assuming, the Toyo Open Country's are 61 lbs. as compared to the Wild Peak's 66.84 lbs. To me, I think the Toyos would be the best for the weight difference alone.
Question: If 315 = 12.5, would that mean the 285 would be 11.5? If not...
May I suggest a quick call or online visit to the FTC & possibly even the state's AG and lodge a complaint if a bait & switch or false advertising is suspected? May not do much good however, it keeps the heat on these unscrupulous dealers.
Great job, bro! Oh yes, it's all about competent & knowledgeable negotiating skills tied together with the dealer's desperation to move the iron that is most likely killing them from the inside out with retention costs. "wink"
Great input! I was thinking of not re-gearing and going with the Toyo Open Country 35"X11.50 due to their only being about a 1 lbs. difference in increased weight over the stock 33" WP's. I think the weight difference over the stock configuration may be the most significant adverse outcome...
What you specify is true however, Stallantis is assisting these dealers with funding to move the older inventory otherwise, these dealers could not and would not discount as such. Plus, these dealers are getting murdered in dealer flooring costs (dealer inventory financing) with many already...
While inquiring about a new JT out of Florida that had similar discounts, they specified that the trade must be 2017 or newer and have <75K miles for the trade in spiff to be in play. Some or most of these type of blow-out discounts also requires for one to go through their financing as well...
Yes, my thoughts exactly regarding going with 35X11.5's as opposed to 35X12.5's. I'm also not a fan of the negative off set beyond the fenders for both slinging debris as well as looks via the 12.5's.
