Cool idea for a thread.
I eliminated the cars I've owned and only including the trucks...
Nissan Hardbody was first
2000 Chevy S10 was 2nd
2019 Silverado was the truck I owned for the longest
2025 Gladiator is what I own now
That's exactly the stable I'm hoping for!
Already got the 41' Gladiator but want to add a 2dr to keep in the garage. Figure I'll have to buy my daughter her first car eventually and might as well enjoy it as a Sunday cruiser for myself before passing it on.
The 2 doors are awesome, wheels...
The Toyota Land Cruisers are sweet for sure. But (and I'm sure you know this) they're not comparable to Jeeps. Just checked Autotrader and in my area I can literally buy 2 new Wrangler/Gladiator Sports for the price of one Landcruiser. Jeeps starting at upper 30's, Land Cruisers in mid 60's to...
I honestly LOVED the Subaru Baja's, no clue how they got approved to make it into production but I loved how out-of-this-world they were.
The Ridgelines are honestly probably the most practical selection for what MOST people need when they buy a mid sized truck. Smooth, quiet, efficient, safe...
Don't undersell the Gladiator, it's objectively the highest rated mid size truck for "truck stuff" stats aside from maybe bed dimensions. If you compared it to "compact" trucks such as Ford Maverick, older S10's, you'll find the Gladiator is (literally) in a completely different class.
Hmm, I haven't had that issue at 6'3" myself. Maybe we just sit different. (My head isn't under the roll bar but is instead under the driver's side freedom panel). Do you have the automatic leather seats (like mine) or the manual cloth? Maybe that makes a difference...
I will say as much as...
I wouldn't have gotten that worked up about it but I agree with the principle. I do get frustrated when people compare apples to oranges. A Camry is quieter, more fuel efficient, and more reliable I'm sure. But it ain't a truck and it's not something I'd look back at after parking.
I bought...
I like the wave thing, it's charming.
I do the "V for Victory" to any Gladiator or Wrangler when I'm on a road where I'd have to stop for a school bus.
4 lane highways with a median? I'm not waving or my arm would get tired.
But on the 2 lane back roads I nearly ALWAYS get a wave back.
I second Rough Country but honestly don't think you need to over-think this one. I'm sure most options are great.
The Rough Country one I have is thick and heavy. It fits well. I admittedly have a tonneau cover on most times but even when I don't, I haven't noticed any bed mat movement at...
I like those wheels a lot too and have come to learn the 8.5" wide 0 offset wheels have just the right fit for my taste. Gotta go with 5x127 bolt pattern though.
There's a JL with these wheels for sale at the dealership local to me right now. It's on 37x12.5's but by looking at the rim alone...
Best answer is flipping the rear view mirror upside down but someone already said that.
Also love these interior storage dividers. $39. Now my wife and I have a place to sit our phones/sunglasses without hogging a cup holder, total game changer.
interior storage dividers
That JL looks great!
The desire for a cab area soft top integrated directly into a bed soft topper is admittedly niche for sure. It'd make for an awesome show truck.
I'm more interested in the canvas material than the full enclosure. Really wish there was a standard tonneu cover with a...
Hey everyone — I’ve got a 41' Gladiator, but my eyes are always drawn to the CJ2A / flat fender world… and honestly even more to the old rugged Land Rover "Series" truck styling.
I’m curious if anyone here is chasing that same aesthetic on a JT.
Ideas I’m looking for (examples):
Canvas...
Your wife has a point.
I've never been bothered by start/stop at all, I don't get the fuss. Honestly kind of like the feature.
But I live in city metro and encounter traffic and long stoplight cycles. The truck goes vroom every time I hit the gas pedal regardless so I just don't understand...
I've got a membership at an autowash 1/4 mile from my house and use it all the time. I mean REALLY often; I use it as a cut-through to avoid the light at a busy intersection.
Not a single issue. It's not touchless, it has the octopus looking things flopping all over the truck etc. You put...
I've got the sport fenders and just did the leveling kit a few weeks ago. Really like it!
1.5" Teraflex leveling kit. This kit has the option to do 0.5", 1", or 1.5". I did the full 1.5" to get best value for my money.
I measured my truck a few different ways and averaged them altogether -...
I'd like to see a budget molle option similar to this, but would want it to simply use the existing 2x4 divider slots, and would need it to be tonneau compatible.
Rubberized edges so that it doesn't scratch the paint as much as the wooden 2x4's do.
Just giving you some ideas @Hooke Road® -...
