The cloth upholstery on my 1998 Wrangler Sahara has held up well in spite of dirty dogs with sharp toenails. By contrast the same sweet darlings ruined the cloth upholstery in my 2006 Silverado 2500HD and my 2009 Toyota Tacoma. A 2021 Gladiator Rubicon with cloth upholstery is on its way here...
