Discoubt Tire in San Marcos will charge $150 out the door for mounting and balancing. Lifetime balancing also goes with the tires as well.

These tires ride great. Balanced less than 4 oz a tire. Very low noise too. If youbare going to do any mud, dirt or snow, I would only go MT.

And they are lighter than comparable tires like Falken MTs. Wonder how much shipping them would be...

I believe in an email they told me that off-roading isn't covered, only pavement damage. 4WP on the other hand has a no-questions asked approach, $100 for 5 tires if I recall correctly.

Wonder if a Discount Tire there would ship these tires to a discount tire here if I had them balanced and mounted at their local shop here. 4WP gets new tires in from their other locations, so there's probably a transport system for things going from one chain store to the other. Just something i'm pondering to see if the juice is worth the squeeze. I understand you are wanting a local transaction only

Good idea. It's worth a call. They do move tires around their network. Discount tire does not care if it is off road damage. The flat out told me that. But call and verify.

If you call the discount tire in San Marxos California and ask for Fred, he's been coordinating this for me. Tell him they're the tires from the pumpkin gladiator, from Brian Ambrose and he'll know what you mean

See if you can get that in writing. Here is what their corporate response was to me

Answer:

The extreme off-roading mostly applies to recreational travel compared to daily commute. If you must traverse through these terrains for your daily commute the certificates would cover any road hazards. Owning a Jeep Wrangler myself those potholes hit just as hard as those mud holes after a good storm. Please be careful out there on the road.

Question: How does Discount Tire define them (extreme off-roading, rock crawling, mudding)? For example, on some county/state roads here in KY there are long sections that include crossing and driving down creeks, through mud and ruts, and over rocks that pattern the “road”. Not talking boulders, but several sticking out a few inches that warrant driving over slowly. Similarly, we have some sections with mud holes thar require careful navigating.


It may be different in California, but to my lawyer under Ky it reads as the warranty doesnt cover damage even on a county road that is in bad repair.
