I’ve had this come up a few times. Thought it was a loose gap. I tightened gas cap and cleared code. But it seems to happen every so many months. Especially after rain storm. Starting to think it’s something else

Yes, I’m pretty sure I had that code pop up this past winter. I did the same the first time - cleared code and drove it another week or so. The code came up again so I had the dealership fix it. I think it was the evap system purge valve solenoid. It was a $25 part and they fixed it under warranty.

They did the ECM emissions recall at the same time. I’m not sure if it was the reflash or the purge valve, but my truck runs much better afterwards. I thought I was getting some lugging and pinging especially when going over speed bumps, but that‘s gone away.

Mine just popped this code in the middle of a rainstorm. Looks like might be the same scenario!

I recently had a P0440, gas cap light popped on, so I replaced the evap purge valve connected to the charcoal box and no lights for the past 3 days…. Seems to be running better as a result.
