When I was looking to install a new lightbar, I could not find anyone who had put an eight light Baja Designs XL linkable LED light on their Adventure Rack Systems front hoop. This was an expensive purchase so I was hesitant at first to take the risk of it not fitting. It was tricky, but I got it to work by using the adjustable ARS 2” light bar mounts. Due to the size of the light bar and the curves in the hoop the mounts would not work in their pictured configuration in the attached link. I ended up removing the 1st and 8th light and mounting the ARS light bar arms in between lights one/two and seven/eight. This required longer screws than the stock Baja designs screws to re assemble due to the added arms. I purchased a variety of screw lengths at the Home Depot and found some that worked. I do not remember what size, but they were not too much longer than the stock. To attach the arms to the 2” mounts I fit the mounts inside of the two top crossbars of the hoop that go over the roof for my roof rack. This was a very tight fit, but I got it to work and it has held up fine.
Because I was able to add the lightbar below the ARS front hoop, I don’t think it added much additional wind noise at speed. After the install I also added the ARS Rocklander 2" Rack System Wind Deflector. In order to install I had to cut the deflector on the bottom left and right edges due to the lightbar mounts. I also had to trim off a portion of the Baja Designs pre load mechanism for it to fit. I don’t know if this made a lot of difference in noise, but everything seems to help a little with cabin noise and I like the look.
Hopefully this helps anyone like me that was hesitant to attempt this install. Here are links to the parts and a couple photos.
