Greetings. Was wondering if anybody had any experience with the Bartact Front Tactical Sunshade at all? I think it’s a relatively new product so I might be asking too soon in that regard, but was curious about any feedback.

I’m debating trying one, despite being a ways off from sunshade weather temps yet. It was -12 on the drive in to work this morning! 🤣

Its not a bad addition. Our only problem up here, especially in the summer, is the dastardly rain. On the other hand, it really helps with the summer sun.

I'm more likely to get the entire front/back option. If I do, I'll repost and report. But that will likely be somewhere around May-June, for sunlight purposes (and a camping trip to Hope).

Yes, agreed on the rain. But I’m being optimistic for spring / summer being more dry and sunny. 🤔 With our long days and plenty of overhead sun I thought it might be handy. Plus I liked the fact you can keep it on and installed while you take the freedom panels on and off. Don’t need to mess with it every time.

I’ll repost and update as well if I end up getting one before you. LOL

I took a trip from Anchorage down to Whittier last summer, no top or doors. Beautiful clear summer day. Still had to wear a damn hat toodling down the Arm.

So, this thing, plus some spray silicone waterproofing, SHOULD let me do the same thing and also protect against a light spray or a quick summer shower (especially in Whittier). And if I really need to cover up for the night or there's a rainstorm coming in (especially in Whitter) I have an appropriately sized Home Depot special tarp that I can bungee to the frame and/or wheel wells.

The only thing I'll be missing with these are my Hazard 4 Storage Headliners, cause they're hard attached to the freedom tops. (BTW, they're awesome, totally worth it and do help with road noise and keeping it warmer).

That sounds like a fun but calculated trip. How was the tunnel with roof and doors off? 😁 I was there last summer pre-JT showing a visitor around. We had a great time.

Silicone spray is a great idea as well. Now I’m off to go look up those storage headliners and see if I’m interested in them. LOL

It was... loud.

And those storage headliners are great for a fast stash or to hang an ouch pouch/soft dump bags. Plus, if I have to, I can remove them off the Velcro and use them separately. For... something.

I saw that they use Velcro and are removable. A great idea.

I just wonder about how much they encroach down in to the cabin though, as I’m short on head room as it is. LOL

Does this work with the freedom panels still attached ?
Yes, supposedly you can install the sunshade and leave it up while you take the freedoms panels on and off. The sunshade sits above the roll bar and below the freedom panels. That’s one of the selling points that caught my eye. Once installed I could just leave it up.

I have something similar in mine, just not that brand. Mine is Alien brand, but it looks to attach the same way. Bungie cords around the roll bars. No storage add on for mine.

You definitely can still use the freedom panels with it, you just have to manuever around the shade to do all the latches. I had my shade installed for nearly a year, until the body shop took it down after an accident to do windshield frame repairs.

I will say, you do lose some of the "open air" feeling of having the panels off with it, but not all of it. I opted for the a grey color on mine, which seems to feel like it lets more light through than a darker black one would. Either way, it beats a sunburnt head on long drives or trail days.

Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if it cut down on the “open air” feel at all, but then I figured that’s the point of me being able to take it on and off if I wan to.

Yeah, best thing I can compare it to would be if you've ever camped in a pop up camper with real dense window screens. You can see through it, and it doesn't necessarily cast a full shadow, but you certainly know it's there.

That said, I'm glad I went for it, and it's really not much of a pain to take off if you decide one day to run without it.

They really don't. The are about the same depth as the overhead wells on the freedom panels.

Literally just looking at these and went to find reviews of videos. I have their seat covers and they are awesome. Would love to hear feedback on the sunshade though
