I'd she got 35 mpg in a jl, you were towing herI'm an old phart, and drive like one! I use the cruise control ALL THE TIME - leaving our house, we are about 1 mile down a one-lane country road to the highway. Once on the highway it's at least 12 miles in any direction to a town, with the speed limit of 55, or 40, or 30 in places. If we need to go farther it's onto the interstate, at 70 mph. Using cruise control means the speed is more tightly regulated that our right foot can do.
When we moved from California to Tennessee I drove our motorhome, towing my JT, and the wife follewed behind me in her JLU. I had the motorhome's cruise control set on 60 mph the entire time on I40, and she drove without cruise control - she actually got up to 35 mpg average on that trip! Decent fuel economy is possible with judicious use of the skinny pedal!
