Can used keyfobs be reprogrammed?

I see a few of these popping up for sale, I’m not sure if there is a thread on key fabs but I’m just wondering if there is a way to reprogram these or are they now useless?

I would think you could bring to the dealer and get re-programmed. I needed a second key so bought one from the dealership. Basically came in blank and the service dept had to program for my vehicle.

Programming And Requesting Additional Key Fobs

Programming the key fob may be performed by an authorized dealer.
NOTE:
● Once a key fob is programmed to a vehicle, it cannot be re-purposed and reprogrammed to another
vehicle.
● Only key fobs that are programmed to the vehicle electronics can be used to start and operate
the vehicle. Once a key fob is programmed to a vehicle, it cannot be programmed to any other
vehicle.
